Galerkin's Weighted Residual Method

In this video, I have solved the problem of a simply supported beam subjected to uniformly distributed load by Galerkin's Weighted Residual Method. Besides, solving the problem I have made an attempt to explain the physical meaning of Galerkin's Weighted Residual Method.

    Why would you draw the residual as bigger than the actual load

    That's a good question Mr Temp. Only to accentuate the Residual Load (just to get across the concept). In actuality the residual should be very small comparatively.
