Apparently only some of the software functions will be going to the other fold phones. I guess they wanted so.e of it to be exclusive to help sell the phone. Tbh i will be getting this phone as im using a fold 3 and its actually quite a jump hardware wise. The shape and size of the phone is better too. Between this and the 5 though. Not much has changed. Also my wife wants my fold 3. So easy decision

Small quality of life changes add up. You might not feel a huge need to upgrade from a fold 4 or 5..... But Samsung never said that you needed to do that. For those who don't already have a fold this device is very compelling and felt much better in the hand and more high quality than the fold five. They address two of the things that held me back from buying a fold previously. Making it thinner and lighter when folded, and a slightly larger outer screen while still remaining not too wide.

Its still good if you have fold4 or older or if you don't have a fold and you want to upgrade. The only complaint for me is that they increased 100$ for it which makes 0 sense...... this phone should decrease price and not raise.

This is now my favourite tech channel, focussing on the features that are genuinely useful in a sincere and articulate presentation. Keep up the good work!

I refuse to accept these are the most fun colours where there is no green!! I love it when Samsung put out a green phone, always ends up being my driver for years. Still holding onto my Fold 3 for now. Putting silly colour assessments aside, this is finally looking like a worthy upgrade after so many years. Thanks for the more in-depth look at some of the new features.

I'm still Fold 3 too. 4 and 5 were like 3.0.1 and 3.0.2, 6 at least looks like 3.1.0 lol

I am super excited about my Z Fold 6 Crafted Black Pre-order. Samsung gave me 1,000.00 for my Fold 4 so it was a no brainer. Got the Fold 6 for 730 bucks before taxes. Couldn't beat that!

Most informative Z Fold 6 video I've seen. Please consider a Watch 7 (44mm) review. All creators seem to have fallen in love with the Ultra but it's a bit too rugged looking for my style. Thanks

Shiny adds don't make up for 4 years of lack of innovation. The Fold 6 is just the Fold 5, the Fold 4 and the Fold 3 in a slightly altered casing. The competition from Honor, Vivo, Oppo, Xiaomi and even the heavily sanctioned Huawei continues to show the market what true innovation looks like. Their phones are much cheaper and at the same time light years ahead of Samsung hardware wise. Samsung has basically become Apple and has lost both its touch with reality and its market share.

Just bought the fold 5. Got it with my carrier contract for a €264 down payment. Also looked at the Fold 6, but had to pay €1000 with my carrier contract. So the fold 5 was a no brainer 😉

The Surface Duo was my grail. I had to wait for a foldable that would measure up. Pre-ordered my 6 yesterday.

They absolutely nailed the design of the fold 6.

Does the Fold 6 have the always on display with wallpaper like the s24 ultra?

Great review, thank you. Everyone wants to focus on what the phone isn't vs what it is. I am agreement with you on the form factor, glad they didn't go super wide, after having a Note for years until the Fold 4, the width of the screen is far more noticable than the thickness in the pocket. Fold 6 is a real upgrade from the fold 5, how quickly everyone forgets the fold 5 was 98% identical to the fold 4, fold 5 was the fold that was a joke. Then price, if everyone stopped whining and took advantage of the pre-order deals and trade ins, I just got 1k for my fold 4 trade in, bringing the final price with discounts of a new fold 6 500GB to 709 USD, good luck everyone getting any other foldable close to that price. Software is where Samsung is king and no foldable can come close, besides AI, from routines, app pairs, to differnent home screens and all the good lock features.

Samsung is becoming a joke in the fold world. If you take away the software they would dead on arrival. The F6 having the same specs besides the cover screen is a travesty. You are basically paying for the same phone with slightly wider flat screen. The real upgrade was the F4 to F5 in which the batter life improved as well as the hinge.

I have fold 3 512gb. I went into the AT&T store to see Fold 6 in person. The weight difference is big time noticeable. The image quality on the main screen is also a big improvement. I watched the same 4K video on both simultaneously and the Fold 3 had like a yellowish tinge while the Fold 6 had that legit OLED look like yiu see on a 2024 OLED TV. Really dark blacks and neutral crispy whites. Samsung is offering $900 for it and an the instant savings of $170 on top. So $1070 off the $2020 price with the free 512gb upgrade gets it down to $950. I paid $1k for the Fold 3 after getting $1k off from my carrier. So does that mean I got reimbursed for using my Fold 3 for 3 years? 😅 and now I get to pay $950 for the new phone? AT&T is offering $1100 in bill credits for Fold 3 no matter the condition of the phone screens. The phone just has to be fully functional. So basically you're paying $70 a month with service and repayments. Insurance is an extra $17.

So... No Z Fold Ultra? I was a little worried Sammy would want near $3k for an ultra fold, but knowing me, I would have paid it anyway.

Would it be worth it to upgrade to this over the S24 Ultra?

As much as I think this is much needed improvement I have to be honest this device still isn’t all that impresive in my eyes, the outer display needs to be like a normal phone wide the phone just looks weird with this aspect ratio and it’s not all that usable if you have bigger hands and the phone itself should be much thinner just like honor magic v2. Basically perfect exaple of how a foldable device should feel and look like. But hey maybe they will make fold 7 ultra with a wider display and much thinner body.

Camera module looks and feels so cheap like a fake knock off on alibaba 😂 i went to see it at samsung experience center in glendale, CA. Ill buy a case that slides and hides that cheap AF camera lens module with them giant bezles or put a camera lens protector that makes it look real again lol. I pre-ordered that black carbon fiber 🔥

Did I say innovation? It's not disingenuous if it's my feelings? The honor foldables aren't made available globally and usually make sacrifices to achieve the thinner design. What Samsung have done here is very nice and the hardware is incredibly well designed and me saying that is genuine because that's how I feel

Well that was interesting but too kind towards Samsung...I was expecting a better camera and bigger battery, less crease, a spen working on the outside, .So Fold 6 is the best foldable that Samsung has produced but hardware wise the competition has caught up and is way ahead ....But Samsung does not care since it tries to make up for it software wise....but let's not forget all those AI features will probably come to S22 as well as Fold 4....and that after 2025 some features might require a subscription

Gonna buy a samsung fold when its dust free and a built in pen. I live next to the beach so dust free. Im also old school so whether on my surface or samsung tablet im using my pen.

I will never get another Z fold. It was a waste of money. Looks nice though.

Apparently, the external display of the Fold 6 has the same aspect ratio as that of the older Xperia (V), can anyone confirm? If so, it would be difficult and hypocritical to continue to criticize the Fold 6's outer display, when for years the Xperia has been praised for that 🤷🏽‍♂️ Ps: on the other hand I can't understand how Samsung could add 300mAh more on the Flip 6 and not even 1 mAh on the Fold 6.

The Fold has been reduced in thickness and weight sustained, meaning there was likely no room for extra battery, whereas the Flip hasn't been reduced in weight and has only fractionally been made thinner

Maybe you've already Googled but from what I looked up, Xperia V is 21:9 and Fold 6 is 22.1:9 so slightly taller

I love the inner screen and navy blue but I wish the outer screen was wider and both screens had the corning dark non reflective glass

It's a squared fold 5 that's a mm wider and they want€1400 with my fold 5,goodluck to that

That's what I like about Samsung, they don't make you hate your current smartphone (in my case a Z fold 4). There’s no reason to upgrade for me since the changes are so subtle.

I think the majority of brand new fold users (who bought the z fold 5) beg to answer the one question, "Should we upgrade from the z fold 5, or is there so little change that is it even worth it?"

To be honest i don't see too much differences between my 3 and new 6. Better hinge, flat when closed, more boxy and narrower frame. Rest is the same for user. If you don't need to change phone, then don't do that. Waste of money. In general it is still the same phone. I just hope they will not make it too wide in next generation, now still possible to use it with one hand when closed.
