You said that it needs to be soldered in place with a small tip soldering iron. Do i also need a soldering iron to release the old earpiece? and how much heat would you use on the iron, and how long do i need to hold the soldering tip on the connections? thanx in advance...

Many Thanks for uploading this - I've just replaced the full LCD/screen on my phone as the screen was completely shattered & it seemed easier & cheaper to replace the lot. The only issue I had was removing the vibrating motor, which despite applying a lot of heat, came away but left the connections behind - they must have used superglue!....but it's no real problem as I can buy a new one & install that with confidence now, after this video. Held my breath when I switched it back on & was delighted to see it's working brilliantly! Thanks again for taking the time to put this together!

Hi, I got a prone that hit the ground. It was sent for repair, but it was supposed to cost 320€, since the motherboard was "destroyed" as it was written on the report. Now when I got it back, the buttons were glowing and when it was connected with a pc, I could get all the data from it. The mainboard doesn't show any physical damage and seems to work normaly, but the repair service wrote it was destroyed. Should I get a new screen?

the most important thing is to keep the battery out until its 100% dry. Sounds like it might still have water trapped in the power switch. Try giving it a long hot blow dry with a hair drier keeping the heat at about 60c. If you have access to a vacuum chamber that would be a great way to remove any trapped moisture

hi and thanks for the video - here is a question for you: yesterday my s3 mini fell on the floor and now there is a scratch/dent on the upper right corner of the middle silver bezel. Display is perfectly fine as well as everything else. It is just a cosmetic issue. What is the cheapest way to fix that? I was reading that I need to change the whole display/digitizer/screen etc?? Can that be possible? Can't I just replace the silver middle frame bezel that is between the screen and the back cover?

Hi Great Video. Question if Okay. My father bought same phone. Would not charge after a few months. Sent for repair via warranty but they said it was water damaged and sent photo of USB port having corrosion. My dad had it in his jacket pocket or next to his bed (aged 78)..No water sports!! My case is molded different than yours on the inside. I ordered a digitizer replacement off ebay and the charging port and the sim card port location shapes are not the same on the replacement. Are there different versions of the mini? On mine, the charging port is flush with the caee and on the new one it is molded in. Mine is at&t.

I just need to open my phone to get to the battery. You took off the back of the phone so easy. It took me ages!

LE55ONS I have a samsung S3 mini which I have replaced the screen on however when it came to me the phone was making noises but not showing anything on the display. Have you encountered anything like this and can you advise. I think its something to do with a chip however I am wary before proceeding. PS great videos they have been fantastic

Hi, great disassembly video. I dropped my S3 Mini last week and now my screen flickers when plugged in and thinks it is still charging after i pull out the charger. I done hard reset and got a new battery. Do you think the charging connector port is the problem? I've had some experience repairing a lumia 800 from your videos, but this may be my second attempt if the problem persists.

its very hard to tell oem from aftermarket on eBay. The price will be quite a bit higher for an original oem and the feedback should be very good. If you want a genuine oem screen I would buy it from www.etradesupply.com and use coupon code ETS2 for a little discount which also gives me credit
