Long-time Note and S-pen user here. Once you start using the S-pen, you won't stop and use it for everything you can. You'll start picking up your phone and almost immediately pull out the S-pen. And, if it matters to you, you'll love that it keeps your screen free of smudges. The S-pen alone makes an iPhone a total nonconsideration for me.

I don't know why Samsung doesn't showcase stuff like this on their commercials. The s-pen is so useful and so much more than just a stylus. I've been using the Note since the Note 4 and I can't see myself using anything else.

Moved up from the Galaxy 9+ (yep, 4 years...) and I am loving the Ultra. Just tried several of these features and, man, this is a great piece of tech. I'm glad I waited one more year to get the S Pen.

7:10. There is a much easier way to translate a real life photo and you won't have to save it. Go to Camera -> More -> Bixby Vision -> translate. For texts on the screen I don't use the translate feature, my favorite way is: Bixby Vision -> hover over the text and then crop the text you want translated -> press the little T -> scroll down once everything had popped up and everything is auto-translated into whatever language you have chosen.

Google Lens will also translate very quickly. Just open up the picture in Lens and select translate.

Also a good related tip, is if there's is foreign text say on a Web page you just use smart select circle the text and click translate

I've just preordered mine, in green. I'm coming from the S10+ and have never owned a Note, so I am super excited for this! 😄 Although, I can't help but wonder, why the S pen, is stored on the left side of the phone, rather than the right, when most people are right handed 🤔

I was worried about the s pen on the left too but after trying it in store I don't see any problem. Also what suprise me is the latency, its so low it feels like writing on paper.

Awesome review on the pen! I’m so happy to get my s pen back! I tried the z flip….and it is a really nice phone….but I am die hard note fan, no matter what they want to call it. I’m excited for this! The only thing I would’ve mentioned is that you can write on the calendar. I use that function every single week. I’m just not as good at typing it all in.

Your S21 ultra have the same exact features as the Note 20 ultra and the S22 ultra. The only difference is you wouldn’t get the Bluetooth features using the S-pen and the s22 ultra have a lower latency (no major deal). Stick with the S21 ultra 💪🏾

I am new to the pen as well, but I have wanted this sort of functionality for some time. However, for me the main draw is Samsung has been the camera of the flagship and that meant skipping the Note... until now! I am looking forward to becoming familiar with it and it's many uses.

I haven't had much luck with converting writing to text yet, but I am finding it helpful with the Swype keyboard. Finer control, faster.

Just thought it worth mentioning... I have a little difficulty at the moment with using handwriting, particularly in Gmail, but what seems to work especially well is using the s pen with the swype setting on a keyboard. It seems faster and more accurate than what I am used to with my fairly nimble fingers.

I concur! I've noticed though that it takes a couple of selections to get to the keyboard if you're using the pen, and I haven't quite figured out the fastest way to get to it yet (and it depends which app you're using as well)

I had the note 3 years ago, and know how cool and useful the S pen in but all these new features I had never seen are freaking awesome. Its unreal how much youre able to do with a smartphone nowadays. Mine should arrive in a couple of days. Cant stop tracking on my ups app smh

I’m so overwhelming with excitement and with all this knowledge I can learn about S-pen. 🤪 I’m expecting my s22 ultra to come in the mail tomorrow. It’s my first Samsung phone with S-pen feature. 😅

Love your videos!! Here's one more S-Pen tip. I tried to use the S-Pen to take a picture when I had the camera at 100x and aimed at the moon on a tabletop small tripod. Could NOT find the little pen button in the dark while holding the tripod so the moon is centered. The difference between the pen's matte finish and the smooth button was just too small. So I tried to stipple the button with a soldering iron, but nope. I did get a little stippling on the pen barrel on either side of the button, which helped. Turns out that putting two small scratches / cuts in the barrel on both sides of the button (across the barrel) with an Exacto knife was the answer. Just enough tactile improvement to find that button every time but not so much that it would stick in the S22 pen holder barrel. MUCH easier to find that button now!!

As Galaxy S 7 Tab User, i can see that are exactly the same features, so that's fantastic. For my job as illustrator, probably i will paint with infinite painter in here more than my tablet when i go in trips and use the tablet for more serious deep work to finish them with bigger screen when i find a proper place to sit and relax :D

Great video. Other than Erica Griffin there aren't too many reviewers that know how to use a Note properly. They just use it like another phone and then wonder why it doesn't seem worth. Until you've had to sign a PDF document last minute at the DMV that you need before your number is called like I have or something similar that the S Pen excels at then you won't get why Note users won't use another phone.
