Yea but it was the corner on the s20 that broke and the iPhone landed on corners and had a larger impact on corners then and later in the vid the iPhone lands straight on its face in the most brutal landing position and s20 didn’t so it’s not like he iPhone had the advantage yea these aren’t the most reliable vids of durability testing but it’s pass the parcel dude

@@autoshitnl2852 I wouldn't say he rigs them but they definitely aren't fair, as you said the samsung phones land where they're supposed to while Apple phones always land at an angle. And his name also suggests bias. He definitely isn't a reliable source and you can easily see that in his grading of the phones. I have actually seen drop tests where both phones drop identically so it is very possible to have a fair test.

@@TIMETECH07 No because it is extreamly difficult to let something slip out of your hand evenly at all the edges and it will inevitebly start rotating. Uneven weight distribution doesn't let the heavier part drop faster, this would only show at much deeper drops because of air resistance.

I have a smart battery case for my pro max, can u do a drop test with the battery case to see how durable the case is. Or can u tell me with the case being a battery, and has a little weigh to, if I drop my phone, will the case break or crack? TIA...

In my opinion, it just take one bad fall to kill the glass. Though iPhones design makes it abit more durable to blunder drops, but one bad drop and it dies. Same goes for ultra

@@aerodynamic1440 I found an S9 that fell flat on concrete. The screen also wouldn't turn on. If the glass breaks it can damage the connectors at the bottom. This seems to be a random case scenario. He should've tried a hard reboot though, dissapointing he didn't since there can be impact sensors. Some phones also turn off when they get hot etc.

And those samsung drops were so unfortunate, always flat on back or screen, when iphone most like was taking it on the corner, most likely metal corner, when it finally drops flat it's gone. The way that phone will brake is just luck nothing more. You have to do side by side drop test, like phonebuff did to show real results, and i get it he is iphone guy, but saying that iphone glass is super durable isn't true, maybe it is more durable than gorilla glass but not by a mile.

And if your phone doesn't break like that it doesn't mean that all iphones will survive that or all samsung phones will break like that... Every iphone 11 pro max is the same and at the same point isn't. There will always be better and worst units....

You should buy a machine that does the drop tests because it will be more accurate cuz the Iphone had atleast 2 blunder drops and even in one drop the Iphone 11 pro max dropped on the Samsung s20 ultra(10 foot drop)(8:39).

What about internal damages? You should do a teardown and see the damages inside . I dropped my 11 pro max which hit tye ground by corner and i think there has been some brightness issues

Jyellow It’s an alloy kiddo. The finish is stainless steel, not the frame. Samsung has done the same thing these past 5 flagships. This is why it cracks so easily. It’s very obvious after jerryrigeverything did his test.

I literally dropped my note 10+ from 45 ft up onto a piece of steel at the bottom of a crane and the phone still works perfectly couple of screen cracks and shattered the back. I don't know if that attests to the capability of the note 10+ its self or the otterbox defender pro. But either way it happened

I would take this with a grain if salt. You can see the phones are being dropped slightly differently and this is skewing the results. I would recommend phonebuffs video on this he does actual controlled drops

@@Alloyd876 the point of this video to test the durability of the phones vs one another. The only way to accurately do so is with controlled drops ..

I see the S20 as the big winner here. While the Apple 11 Pro held up as far as glass is concerned, I was shocked to see how soon it was DOA. For the most of the tests the S20 got cracks on the back. The back can be easily and inexpensively replaced. It wasn't until later in the test that the cameras were compromised. That would be an expensive repair. But in the final analysis the S20 held up well and continued to function, despite many falls. I agree: these phones need to be protected in a case. Kudos to Apple for improving the game with obviously better glass.
