Thank you so very much for letting us hear more of each CB radio's sound while people are talking and scanning theough the channels. I've noticed that you have done that more and more, including the DAK video and it's much appreciated. The sound of the speaker, the clicking of the knobs, all of that aids in the decision to purchase a radio or not. A real test drive. Thx again.

I run this radio all the time, main radio while I’m at home. Works awesome as do all those you have done up. The only issue is it’s a Galaxy mobile, so while not in use, it drifts, no clock either lol lol lol. But when using keeps frequency. The ears on this radio now is awesome!!!!! Thanks Mike

I think the heat sink on the back is used on their 93T and 95T. The 95T doesn't need it due to the PA being in the case below the radio, but the 93T has a 2SC2290 Final in the back of the radio. It has the same heat sink with two fans on it to keep the Toshiba pill cool. I have a 93T in like new condition and I love that radio. They are getting collectible now.

These are sought after radios and bring a high price used. One in this condition sells for about $450 to $650. I really like the 95t2 and would love to have one.

When I played with CB many years ago I just used real amateur gear instead of trashy splatter box radios and class C garbage amplifiers. My last decent CB station was a heavily modified Tempo One driving an FL2100B into an original Avanti Astrobeam at about 55 ft. The modifications I'm referring to were done by a very close friend who is a brilliant electronics tech, not some CB hack. He devised a way to make the Tempo talk on AM like an FT 101 by building his own design solid state modulator circuit that he rigged to plate modulate the predriver tube of the radio. It was a brilliant way to get beautiful AM audio from a rig that was never designed to make great AM. On SSB, it was a beast as well. I worked the planet with that rig many times over. That set up was nothing special and it ran rings around every normal CB I tried...and in my 20+ years playing on 11 meters...I tried or had them all back in the day. I even worked in a CB shop...one of my first jobs.

Hi Mike, love your videos. I used to repair CB's years ago but got out of it and went on to explore other things. Since the kids are grown and gone and I have more money and room in the house I am starting to put a part-time repair shop together also I would like to try my hand at a couple of those channel king expansion boards. but not sure who to contact about that. and I have a couple of questions about some test equipment if and when you get some time. Thanks a bunch for all you do

That is a very nice set for a CB, be it illegal in almost every country in the world, but I still like it (for a CB).

wow Mike I'm surprised you didn't try to talk the customer out of the recap. I can understand if it was a 30+ year old grant or 2510. do the caps really go bad that quick?

Looking to see if you would fix my radio cobra 29 ltd classic when I hook it up in my 2016 international it trips the breaker and my display says electrical short. Radio won't power on and as soon as I plug in the radio with out it being on it trips the breaker. Sounding to me like it has a dead short in it????

If one's buying an "11 meter black box CB transceiver" because they exceed FCC's output limits of 5 watts my suggestion would be to get yourself a uniden 980, and an amplifier. Although I perfer vintage gear I wouldn't have a problem buying a brand new 980. I've yet to hear an (unmolested) out of the box 980 that imo doesn't sound terrific. Weather on AM or SSB.. I've heard so many of them over the past few years, and I have yet to hear a bad one with the exception of ones that have been golden screwdrivered to death. And from the posts I read pertaining to the 980's receive they're great hearing radios. In my opinion these black box "CB radios" are junk. Just one man's $0.02. Thanks for the clip Mike.

Mike, I have a few HR2510's that need some TLC. Two of them were sitting at Doc's house when he passed away in June and his wife had to mail them back to me. If you don't have time to work on mail in radios, can you recommend someone who knows 2510's?Thanks
