In this video you'll find gameplay of the first stage of almost every official Galaxian version (with the exception of the MZ-80B, FM-7 and the JAKKS Pacific, which unfortunately I couldn't find).
Unofficial clones, hacks and homebrew versions has been deliberatery excluded. Maybe in a future I'll make a video dedicated to them.
This has been another very tough video so I hope you give it some love.

Oh my god you actually did it!! thank you so much 😊
I usually find the more primitive looking versions the more interesting ones. It's more fun to look at the ones who at least try than the ones who can do it effortlessly.
the first arcade game I played. I was 7 years old, my father controlled the joystick and I pressed the fire button!

Damn, I've never been able to hit 100% accuracy in any version of this game, those ones that did impressed me.

That’s the Sharp MZ-700 version!
I had the Entex handheld game, and it was an absolute nightmare to see the bullets among the scrolling stars. In the end, my dad got some coloured acetate and stuck it over the screen to make the green stars look much darker, which finally made the game playable.
Oh, man a vacuum fluorescent display (VFD) tabletop version! Those are true classics. Ate batteries like crazy bc VFD is kinda the worst tech for this thing, but looked good.
You finally made it! Thanks!
My favorite version is the NES because the music/sound is better. The Atari 2600 port is surprisingly good, especially with the console's limits.

Galaxian is A VERY HARD GAME, but awesome!
I love the way the Bandai Tabletop just has Star Wars music lmao Also, if I recall correctly, Satoru Iwata (R.I.P) worked on Star Battle!
Excellent, I love Galaxian.
I love how sound effects from MSX are exactly the same as Famicom version
I played the Speccy version on a b/w tv, obviously pirated up the wazoo bc 1980s... good memories.

Why are the PC-8801 versions so absurdly fast?
I like 90's windows and PS versions, trying to simulate arcade's vertical display. There is also a new remake- Galaxian DX for C64
Namco's Game that came out before Pac-Man
There's also galaxian turbo which your bullet speed will fire much faster (This also affect enemies speed but not their bullets)
Pretty sure this is a space invaders rip off but I have so much nostalgia playing this game on famicom version as a kid, I also have nostalgia memories playing it on MAME too on my PC
Nice video, dude. Sadly, you missed a lot of ports I listed yesterday.

He's making a separate video for clones we're he'll include much of the unofficial ports not featured here. As for the emulated versions, well they're 100% to the arcade so no point in featuring them for the most part.
The NES is _noice._
The NES adds 1 or 2 Player Option. How nice. Your finally able to ragequit XD. just kidding. But this is revolutionary to the game.
Weird that the Windows version from 1998 is worse than the Windows version from 1996

There's two versions of Galaxian on the Sharp X68000, one called Galaxian 2 and a pretty much arcade perfect port simply called Galaxian that released in 1996. Both of these are unofficial however.

wouldn't the arcade version be the definitive version since it was, you know, first?
@giuliobarbera6227

Not the "definitive", because any further upgrade (i.e. on a 16-bit console, for example) would be better, but it's definitely the OG one... You can't beat Arcade, EVER! U.U

@@giuliobarbera6227 To me, anything trying to copy the arcade is just that, copying. The original is the definitive. Everything else is just copying the original.

With some arcade games, their home console ports outdo their original versions for different reasons. I can think of a few games that arguably do so: *Centipede (7800, 1986):* 2-player co-op. *Columns (Genesis/Mega Drive, 1990):* nearly identical sound and graphics to the arcade version but with more gameplay options. *Mario Bros Classic (NES [PAL], 1993):* more jump control and selectable difficulty but with all the cutscenes and features of the original. *Ms Pac-Man (SNES, 1996):* more maze variations, selectable difficulty options, an optional dash feature, and 2-player co-op.

@@reillywalker195 Great you listed a bunch of games that are different from the original. I don't remember asking.
@reillywalker195

@@jasonm07You moved the goalposts of your argument. Of course home ports of arcade games aren't going to be the same unless they're emulations of said arcade games-that's a given. My point is that there are home ports that go beyond their arcade counterparts while still fundamentally being the same games. If we look at _Mario Bros_ as an example, _Mario Bros Classic_ for the European NES is fundamentally the same game as its arcade counterpart with the same fundamental mechanics but with slight changes that arguably elevate it to being a better version of the game; contrast that with _Mario Bros Special_ and _Punch Ball Mario Bros_ by Hudson Soft which have entirely different mechanics and definitely are different games despite being clearly inspired by _Mario Bros_ the arcade game.
