GALACTIC IRIS! Easy Fluid Art Open Cup Technique, DecoArt Cells, MUST SEE!
The mix of coloured acrylic and decoart satin enamel is really amazing!

You can create cells easily without silicone with this method!
As you see in this video, i hesitate on many occasions. I wish i could have kept it as it was without stretching, but unfortunately there was too much paint on the canvas to do that. Maybe next time! In the end i leave it alone as is for fear of ruining it.
In my mind, this looks just like a GALACTIC IRIS with all the different shades of blue and the blended lines developing from the centre.
One of my regrets with this piece is that i didn't add a last puddle of black in the centre before i stretched. No dry finish on this one yet.
RECIPE:
The coloured paints are mixed as:
Basics acrylic paint - 50%
DecoArt Satin enamel pure white - 50%
I then added approx 4 x the volume of paint(above) in Floetrol
I recommend adding a squirt of medium as well to help maintain the paint binders - however, personally, i forgot to add it for this pour.
Colours - are shown within the video.
The only colour that did not have DecoArt Satin enamel is the Black (background colour) this was mixed:
Basics acrylic Paint - 20%
Floetrol - 80% (4x volume)
Water added to any of the above colours if required to reach consistency.

This is the first acrylic pouring video I’ve ever seen! #LoveIt 💗
I love how the colours just started appearing. It was awesome just like that.
Beautiful!! I love how the outside part looked 3-D. It actually looked like it was curving in on itself as you moved it around! TYFS!
Dear Goddesses and Gods. I needed this in my life. Thank you. 🧘🏾♂️🦋🖤
Wow, I love the speckled effect as the paint flows from under the cup. Stunning!
I’m watching this video on the flat screen through Roku all cozy in bed thinking damn- now I have to go turn on my phone so I can comment on the beauty of this. This shows why paint pouring IS an art- you’re thinking all kinds of out of the box. Congrats/ stunning piece👍

I was planning on getting some dutchboy white paint for my backgrounds, now I know to get satin enamel! Thank you!
I love how you left the corners the solid black color. I would have been soooooo tempted to use a tooth pick in the middle. I was already swirling the paint in my mind lol. It looks awesome as is. The cells are beautiful.
I'm loving this technique done with black...something I have never seen before!! :)

Love how it's looking before the cup is coming OFF and. Awe it never showed the real ending but was looking beautiful
Yes this technique is really good because it allows the paint to do its own thing without too much stretching....the ingredients make a big difference with this also.............great job and hope it’s what you wanted.iI

Poured this morning. I went with less paint. Wasn't enough paint! Scraped it and will try again. Just love when the colors pop out from underneath the black. Thank you for your inspiration.

Temas de galaxia, me encantan
This is so cool Krystal!! I thought it was glow in the dark paint at first, you have created amazing contrast! I wonder if we used a smaller cup if we could get away with not tilting it at all.. I tried once but got greedy and put too much paint in.. maybe I'll try again tomorrow. Thanks for the inspiration and a amazing gorgeous pour! 🥰

yeah, perhaps a smaller cup would work, but i also think a round canvas will help if we have to tip anything off. Would look so cool in glow paint!

@@DirtyArtist I just tried it with glow paint... I was trying for the little dots and I didn't tilt but the cells were way too big. Also, half the colors disappeared after it dried.😢 Going to try again with the satin mixture but I was afraid it would dilute the glow. Wish me luck. I really want this effect for a background.🙂
at first I was like "how... did you do that?"😂 I don't know anything about these techniques so I was surprised, it looks amazing!
I loved the color effect but I think it was better before tou tilted it around.
