Another great video! Excited to just read that Angelo will be part of the NY Wine Experience this year. I’ve not had the opportunity to taste Gaja wines with much age, but look forward to adding some of those wines to my cellar.

Of academic interest only for me, John but interesting nonetheless. I might search for a 25 y.o. Gaja but it is likely, even if I could source one, to be way outside my budget. I have some '13 and '18 Barbarescos (but not Gaja, alas) which will have to do the job.

Thank you, Steven. This is one that we often chip in to try with some age. Prices are definitely heading north, but the older vintages are absolutely the way to go both due to cost and because they are more ready to enjoy.

I had the chance to get Sorí Tildin and San Lorenzo 2004 for a really good price (below 200$) and I am sad that even their Barbaresco is now more expensive then these aged premium versions.

That is great to hear about the 2004! Yes, at this time buying back vintages is definitely the way to go. The pricing has definitely skyrocketed of late.

@@AttorneySommYes, indeed! The sentence was supposed to include Barbaresco but I guess the headache got in the way.😅 Thank you for making that important clarification. Have a lovely Wednesday, John!

GAJA might be the best wine(s) outside of burgundy/bordeaux. Sperlle,Barberesco, and San Lorenzo are ridiculous .if ever you drink them aged you are in for an experience
