From the start of this video l can see you are in the right frame of mind, and you have documented the country and not your self as so many others do for their five minutes of fame. Glad you liked it! Just start planning it and make it happen. Life is to short to not enjoy some of the roses along the way. As long as I can get on my mule I'll be there. 😀

@@194448lj good advice. Just need some land to put a mule on, but more importantly is, find a good Mule! I know hardly nothing about what makes a good one, or a bad one. And its a shame but many will take advantage of that. Wish I was closer to you, because you seem like one of the good ones.

Thanks for sharing your adventure into the high country. It was so beautiful this year and the wild flowers were making a good showing. I dont ride but that adventure sure makes me wish I could make a trip and camp in those mountains.

I love this but can't help but feel for poor little Fancy seems like shes doing the heavy lifting. LOL

It looks worse than it is. lol It only weighs about 125 lbs. Freeze dried Mountain House doesn't weigh much.

I have hunted the Cow Creek and Red Creek , Sneva Mtn and Green Mtn area for many years ... from the top of Red Creek I’ve looked into Witterhorn Basin many times ...just never went into it ... again , I loved the video .. I’ve ridden some mighty fine mules all over those places .. brought back many memories ..

I'm in Colorado now for this year's trail ride. I just finished my ride in the San juans, getting ready to go to the West elks in a couple days

Hello , sure footed mules. lol Funny though not a single bear of any kind. I was wondering why you dont have bells on any thing. Do you carry a side arm? I thought i seen a riffle in one shot. What do you carry? ever have any encounters with bears? Nice video thank you. I would love to do that. You ever take any one out with you?

Thanks Rick, I have only ridden up on one bear.(25 yds) Scared him more than me. Sometime I carry a pistol, but most of the time I don't. Colorado only has black bear so you really don't have that much to worry about. Just don't get between mom and her cubs. I usually try to take someone with me but it's hard to find someone to go on a two week trip. So, I'm going with or without someone! lol Try to make it happen! There's nothing like a trail ride in the mountains.

I use the old analog collars because of the long battery life. I use the R-600A telemetry receiver. I bought mine at Johnson telemetry. 417-876-5083. If this is what you want, tell Debbie you want one like mine. Feel free to call me if you have any questions. 417-860-7584. Leroy

Thanks Brandon. I spend at least a month in the mountains trail riding and elk hunting. Don't care if I get an elk or not as long as I'm in the mountains on my mule! Try to make it happen, the sooner the better!

@@194448lj Yea. I live in Colorado now. Was in military for 20 yrs so moved around a little. Mostly Midwest and north....Alaska is amazing. Grew up on farm and ranch life in new mexico....love the long ears. Better in so many ways than a horse in a lot of ways.
