David was great back here 😭

This was before David begins his frustration by causing the criminal damage and gets himself arrested

This is a great example of how good the writing used to be in Corrie. Long form, protracted dialogue between two people, across a range of emotions, bringing out the very best in the actors and leaving the viewer engaged and unsettled, without easy answers, unrealistic one-liners or second rate comedy. Nowadays such a scene would end with some quick and easy resolution, or else Gail would end by quipping something like, "and as if pushing me down the stairs wasn't bad enough, you went and ate that chocolate brownie I'd left in the fridge."
