This tutorial is very well done. I've seen a couple of other explanations online and read the manual, but you're covering things in a way that is just as precise to be complete while being really simple to understand. I also like how you explain not just the rules, but also what motivates them (e.g. the limitations on federations, in order to avoid breaking the game).

I would recommend anyone that is about to watch this video to first read through the rule book, at least to get an understanding of what all of the symbols in the game mean. For the things that are explained in this video, they are explained extremely well. However, some other things, mostly symbols, or power levels of structures, are sort of left out and it’s assumed that you already understand what they mean. That being said, really comprehensive on everything that was covered on. Haven’t found a better rules explanation online yet.

Wow...Huge thanks for creating this. Watched a few other videos and kept finding errors in them, and then I found this. Very long, but worth it as you go over everything. There were a few things I needed to look in the manual to fully understand, but otherwise incredible, incredible work on this. Pat yourself on the back buddy, you won the GP tutorial video award hands down lol!

I just got this game but haven't played yet. As I'm pretty advanced in years, I do find it harder to learn new information. I've watched several play through, review and tutorial videos. Your channel provides learning in one video what watching all the others combined wouldn't even accomplish. It's impressive. I've only seen a handful of your videos, mainly because I only play solo, which is one game element and audience that you don't seem to cater for. However, I just subbed/liked because you really deserve at least that amount of support and recognition of what you provide and the obvious amount f work that must go in to creating such excellent content. Thank you and I'll be back for more!

Extremely informative and well structured! I am preparing for my first game of Gaia, which will happen this Saturday. I will be the game master. If I will be half as methodical as you during explanation of the rules, I will call it a success :) Without ever playing is, and only by observing the rules, the game looks fun and I am very excited to try it out, but there are a lot of details you need to make sure to follow in order to play correctly, and that is my main concern. Let's see how it goes :)

15:35 where did you get three knowledge? I only see two blue knowledge incomes on the board.

Very thorough explainer! I do have some questions though. I understand that one cannot get more tech-tiles of the same type that guarantee an income. But how about the ones that give an instant bonus, do those need to be turned over when cashed in. If so, can one take a tile of the same type again on a different occasion? Another question related to tech tiles: Track advancement is possible by gaining a tech tile, but how about when the player already has that type of tech tile? Could they still advance in that tech without taking the tile at all...? I hope the questions are clear and you know the answers... Thanks anyway!!

Just saw this sorry, sometimes KZread doesnt give all notification! You can never gain the same tech tile twice. And you can't take the tech action just to get the research advancement. Hope that helps!

Thank you anyway. I understand about not being able to take the same tech twice. But you are suggesting that if one already has a certain tech the ONLY way to advance in the respective research area is to build research buildings....?

@@miklosbarna1855 Once you have the tech tile associated with a certain track, you can advance on that track by the research action (spend four knowledge to rise on a track of your choice); or by taking a basic tech tile from the three stacks not associated with any specific track; or by taking an advanced tech tile (since both of these allow advancement on a track of your choice). But you can't build a research building, and forego the tech tile but still get a research track advancement.

QUESTION: if we are two players and one passed. Could the other player still make as many actions as he wants or just one last one?

What happens of two playera tie fornfirst place on final scoring? And what if two players tie for second place at the same time? In thebrules there is one sentence for.this and i still dont get it.. in a three player game for example if two.tie for first place they get 18 plus 12 but the third player is then second and gains 12 or does he get third place? What happens if 4 players tie for first and for second

Hi Patrick. If two players tie for first, then the next-placed player would be considered third. The tied players would each take 15 points and the third-placed would take 6. If all four players were tied for first, then all four players would take nine points. If two players were tied for first and two for second, then the first two would get 15 points (the average of 1st and second), and the other two would get 3 (sharing the points for third.
