Listened yourgoodself lecture on deep breathing,found very informative.Being a muslim,keeping in view deep breathing.I applied on holy verses by adopting recitation ya Allahoo, Ya Heyoo Ya Qayoomoo,Ya salamoo,Ya Shafi.On this recitation basis,one can find particular level of deep breathing.Recited it one thousand in numbers.my sugar level went down from172 to 125 afer one hour.even I could not get said result after one hour walk. Our Vedic learning is really gem they give so much emphasis on pranayama. If someone want to take the benefits to another level. Do this take breath while chanting OM (silently or on your mind) and then hold breath while chanting gayatri mantra and then release breath chanting OM again. Start with few rounds and then increase it for 21 rounds.

Ram Vermaji, As an environmental scientist, we take 2kg food, 5 kg of water and in a day 20-22 kg of air for an average man. So what you discussed for respiration x, 6x, 4x. I did not understand is why do we exhale through mouth?. Pl clarify if time permits. Its very good lecture. Thanks,

Bro we exhale through mouth because exhaling through mouth is longer than nose.when we exhale through mouth more co2 will be out from body as compared to nose
