Hey, just found this reaction, but here, better late than never, a brief history of the band: GS started in 2009, with a lead singer called Armmy (Takae Ashitomi). They did a sort of highly technical punk-pop, but crossed genres a lot. They started to have friction between Armmy and the rest of the band, and then in early 2012 she left, officially for health reasons. When Armmy left, GS had tours lined up in both Japan and abroad for 2012, and needed a lead singer. For the Japan tour various singers (including Fuki) filled in for different shows, but they couldn’t find someone good enough who could also commit to the band full time For their overseas tour Hana (who was doing drums and vocals and was effectively the co-leader of the band) took the lead vocals on herself. She also happens to play several other instruments. This became Doll$Boxx. They wrote and recorded their first album at the end of 2012, then picked up GS again full time in 2013. This remains their main focus, and Fuki is busy with many projects including her main band Unlucky Morpheus, but they occasionally continue to perform together when their schedules permit. So Doll$Boxx can be considered a special project of GS. Regarding the genre of Gacharic Spin, it's pretty much impossible to pin it down to any one thing, although by and large they'd probably fall very roughly in the "pop rock" genre although they really just do whatever they want at any given time. You'll find everything in their back catalogue from metal and punk to electro, dance, pop and ballads. Most of their recent work merges multiple genres. In recent years, Gacharic Spin have added more personnel (a drummer, allowing Hana to focus on guitar and vocals, and dancers who also sing). Core personnel (these are also the members of Doll$Boxx along with Fuki): Hana (Hana Sano): vocals, drums, guitar, keytar, other instruments Tomo-Zo (Tomoko Midorikawa): lead guitar F-Chopper Koga (Michiko Koga): bass Oreo Reona (Reona Suzuki): keyboards, vocals All of them can sing and occasionally take on lead or backing vocals. Hana and Oreo also do metal growls in some songs. Several other performers have rotated in and out of GS. Currently they list Yuri as their drummer and Angelina doing dance and vocals. This band I have known for some time . I did however take a bit of getting used to them . Once I could get my head around how good they are I was firmly hooked . Great job Champ 👍👍👍👍👍

Great reaction and you got spun. Rock girl (Angie) was around 18/19 when this was shot, she's now 20 and the rest are mid-thirties.

iirc this was mostly Tomo-Zo's (guitarist) song. The main vocals though came from Angie (pink haired vocalist), who wanted to show her band mates that one can sing differently (the way she sings the verses). The multi-solo-part though was all Tomo-Zo and the rest of the band wasn't sure if they would be able to pull it off (ofc they did). Hana, the drummer, usually does all the "packaging" and arranging of the ideas into song form. Cheers :)

wait untill you hear their Alter Ego spin off band Doll$ Boxx, same line up but with the borrowed singer from Unlucky Morpheus, Fuki. I would start out with Shout Down. Toy Sodiers , Take My Chance, but so much mor, very much G Spin but so different. One of my fav Spin tracks is Forever where the band goes into a Math Rock prog space. Great band . Japan is where the music is happening.

Please check their old band, Doll$Boxx (Just a different vocalist basically. She's now in Unlucky Morpheus, a power metal band). The song is Take my chance. MV or live show is great but you'll like the MV.

Now that you tried Gacharic Spin, you should try their other band Doll$Boxx, which has 4 of the same members, different vocals. And for Doll$Boxx just try Take My Chance which is their best known piece.
