The Gacharic Spin ladies names are flowing off your tongue, these days. 😀 I used to be not that much of a Gacharic Spin fan as I used to be confused with Doll$Box and who is who and why. As I have delved into them more, I find I enjoy their live performances more and more. I don't mind which part of their timeline I watch these days, I always find myself enjoying their performances. As you say they check your boxes and get a good score.

Now Singer Angie was only 14 during this time and unknown to the band. Hana can play any instrument. She just was guitarist for ex Nemophila's Saki first solo show (seen the livestream - was great). She was even a bassist in her first band.

They had the dancers they just didn't come out on certain songs this being one of them mostly it was during the very upbeat very energized songs

F Chopper Koga = Michiko Koga bass player and founder of Gacharic Spin, the Pink Panda and Doll$Boxx. made 2 slap bass introduction dvd’s. Before becoming a fulltime musician she was a model and actress. she played a role in the television series Kids War 3. She also played a role in the 2014 movie Metalca. Koga was also a frequent co-host in the DVD’s of WeRock Magazine. And yes. she plays with a pick sometimes.

I am not positive if it's true, but I read somewhere that these red outfits were asked/dictated by the label they were on back then (Victor, the label that Lovebites is still on). The album they released for this (their 7th year) was red as well with them in those red outfits on the cover. I personally am not a huge fan of those outfits, but I know some people like them a lot. On the plusside, the outfits makes the 7th anniversary live performance pretty recognizable and there are some very good performances on it. I just it love when they used Nenne, one of the dancers they had back then, for interesting changes in the lineup or other shenanigans (not in this specific one obviously).

I do like some Gacharic Spin, but with 15 years of material I haven't had a chance to hear it all. Any drummer that does vocals will always impress me. Hanna is so talented that she makes it look so easy. I know Saki ,formally with Nemophila, has Hanna performing with her live and would like to check that out too.

Ok so timeline is 2016 which is right in the middle of their 15 years to date. It’s the dancer era but just to confuse you they’re off the stage for this song. I personally love the melody and chordal flow of this one (and cascading piano - shame on you for ignoring Oreo’s contribution there 😄), but it didn’t surprise me where you landed with the score. In terms of the pick, I don’t recall anyone saying she never does, but clearly they would be wrong. It’s not that unusual to see her with a pick, in fact you’ve seen it before yourself….though it would be 3rd behind slap and fingering for how often she does it.

Nice pick homegnome, this is Mark. This was the very first song I heard from GS and was just blown away! They are my favorite band, though I do enjoy the pre 2019 material better. Thanks for always requesting GS, cheers from DFW!

@@MMPlaneSpotting-su3ns Limit Breaker was the name of the open-air show they did last November - the new single is called Halfway and Beyond and comes out on July 3rd but has been played already on Angie's radio show in Japan, so spoilers are available if you know where to look...

Yes, it might be rare to see Koga play with a pick but I have seen it in a few other songs and of course she will also pluck with her fingers when the song calls for it but obviously Koga is best known for her slap technique. Definitely very tasty solos by Tomo-zo with Oreo in the background. As usual a solid song that seems to be a crowd pleaser but not one of my favorites. Finally, you do have a great point that their weakest song is still getting a 7.2.

Just watch the shape Koga forms with her right hand - on a ton of songs she has a pick hidden in her palm, so she can switch seamlessly. This will always be my #1 GS song, cause the lyrics are just the best (appreciate all the people you live with each time - that's why the season/year in the song title changes each time they perform it ). Not my favorite performance of the song, cause this is one of the few times Hana is pitchy, which I think is cause she was sick that day.

Agree this is probably my least favourite live performance of the song, but I don’t think the others would have made much difference to the score, just a stronger overall vocal performance.

Though not my favourite, I like this song very much, because of its connection to the band's evolution and emotional intensity. When someone judges it from the perspective of GS being "energetic" by doing spectacular (think: spectacle) things, it sure doesn't fit the bill. So - I take some issues with "bottom of the barrel" ;)

I've wondered the same in the past given both Oreo and Tomo-zo usually use them - I think perhaps its because if it needs adjusting then that would be hard to do whilst play the drums - you see Oreo quite often needing to readjust hers - having said that there are some performances I've seen where she does use a head mic, so who knows...

Strange that somebody would post that Koga only slaps 🤔It's either someone is new to GS or someone who's not really paying attention 😄Since the beginning of the band Koga played in multiple styles (slap, finger picking and playing with a pick) depending on the song and I don't think that there was a period where she would only slap, so don't know where's that coming from.
