I have ADHD and I used to be always blamed in social studies for not paying attention in class even though I was looking straight at the teacher. I used to have this teacher in second grade that whenever I was doing a test in class I would always space out, and so whenever I spaced out, she would yell my name really loud and I would snap out of it instantly. Also it's like whenever I explain that I have ADHD to somebody, they would say something similar to "But you still have to pay attention in class." I would say, "But I can't." And then it would always end with "You can, your just not trying." NOT TRYING?! If you don't understand what ADHD means, go search it up on Google or ask a close friend. Don't be like some people I know and go tell a kid suffering from ADHD that they aren't trying to overcome their ADHD when they actually are. Trust me. I have ADHD and a huge imagination. It sucks. At least an imagination comes in handy when your all alone with nothing to do. Like make up a funny scenario in your head and just laugh to yourself. Probably the reason why most of the girls at my school think I'm crazy and weird. But I take crazy and weird as a compliment, because I am. I also have a huge sugar tooth. One time me and Celeste (my stepsister) were sitting on the chairs next to the island and I saw this pack of minty tictacs right next to her. Big yikes. I tried to stop myself from asking for one, because I knew that once I tried one, I would steal the rest because they were so good. However I failed. Me: "What are those?" *Points to the tictacs* Celeste: *Picks them up* "Oh these? Tictacs." Me: "Do you know whose they are?" Celeste: "They are mine." Me: *Puts hand out* "Can I have one?" Celeste: *Laughs* "No." Celeste jokes alot. Most of her jokes come out more rude than funny but I don't tell her that. Celeste: *Gives me one single Tictac* Me: *Tries it* My mind: "This is pretty good.." My mind: "Wait... WINTERGREEN?! MY FAVORITE?! SHE DIDN'T TELL ME SHE GOT WINTERGREEN! And that's how it started. Whenever Celeste would look away, I would steal a Tictac. I stole so many Tictacs, that it got to the point where I was daring to get to the point where she would notice I stole some. So to solve that problem I too a handful and ran like a bullet to my bat cave (my room). Then about 2 hours later Celeste walked up to our room and said "Anneliese, why did you steal my Tictacs?" So I explained to her that I was sorry and that I have a extreme sweet tooth. So she replied, " Ok, but still, why did you steal my Tictacs? I wouldn't steal something of yours." I began to get pissed. So I told her over and over again that I had a extreme candy and sweet stuff addiction and everytime she said, "Ok, but still." Finally the last time I told her she said, "Ok, but like, still. Just don't do it." Asking me to stop stealing candy because I can't help it is like asking a drug addic to stop doing drugs. Well, mabye not as extreme, but sort of the same thing. It's like asking a person with depression to stop being depressed. Anyway you get the point. Have a good day!
