As a person who doesn't support but respects LGBTQ+, I would like to state my reasons. You can't just assume and call us homophobic. I'm muslim and my religion islam doesn't allow me to be a part of LGBTQ+ or support it. We show respect. Y'all need to understand that supporting and respecting are two completely different things. I would just like to say I do not hate lgbtq+ people. I don't need to support you for a decision you made, however I will show you respect. Please logically think before you comment. Just like some of you are attacking me, I'm not attacking you here. I simply stated my religions beliefs. Do not force your personal beliefs on someone else, I am not masking my so called homophobia with my religion.

As an trans guy with muslim friends, I totally understand. They can’t support me or anything, but they still respect my pronouns and new name, which is enough for me! All my muslim friends are super nice

@@thelostsoulstudying6828 yeah that's what the first tiktok in the vid is basically about... some of the LGBTQ+ community (typically younger people, I've noticed) cannot understand that some people don't support them and they take it as homophobia. it's a little annoying sometimes because I in the past have been called homophobic for saying I don't support it. Sometimes people even call me homophobic for being a straight female :,) There's just a huge difference between not supporting something than downright hating it. THAT'S homophobia.

I support LGBTQ+! Literally I love this compilation!!! I am a Christian which means my religion and family doesnt really allow me to support LGBTQ+ or be apart of it but..Im a lesbian and I support everyone! And, I believe god loves all his children. I know alot of people will say "you cant change your religion!" But, just because im Christian doesn't mean I dont support LGBTQ+ and alot of people need to know that.

Im a Christian and straight. We're taught to love everyone regardless, and i respect literally everyone no matter what they do or who they love. I lost a friend because they came out to me and although i was respectful i was in fact a Christian so she turned on me and told everyone i was homophobic. Its a cruel world and people need to realise the difference between supporting and respecting.

I know this will start a big fight, but it’s okay to respect someone’s decision but not support the idea. They respect it and use the right pronouns/name but they can’t support the idea. They won’t hate on them, but their religion/beliefs might stop them from supporting the idea. Still, it’s kind of them to respect our decisions. I’m Nonbinary, and I’m fine with people not supporting me as long they use the right pronouns. PLS DONT HATE ON PEOPLE

There’s a difference between respect and support. Respect means you’re okay with it and don’t start drama over something. Support means you encourage it and it’s completely okay to be something or do something. I find it so annoying when people mistake these two. (Do not hate me for this bit) I hate it when people in the lgtbq+ community make it their whole personality. Like “I’m so sorry it’s a gay habit UwU” or “sorry it’s just natural being a bisexual

I’m extremely religious, whenever I tell this to someone they go and think Im homophobic and that I’m hateful. That isn’t the case at all! It’s just so hard to find a person who understands! When I say I don’t support LGBTQ+, I mean I don’t support the IDEA of me doing it and of going against what I believe is nature in between humans. But it does not mean I want them to stop loving who they love, and my way is the only right way. I don’t give to flying cock-a-doodle’s and what gender people love. God forgives the people who are worthy, but if you are one of the people who go around and pretend you are LGBTQ+, I don’t vibe with you. The type of people who are always in your face about it, thats when I draw my last straw.

I wrote a character who's kinda like the first story. She's one of three triplets, two brothers. One is gay and the other ally. She's not an ally herself but she's not homophobic or transphobic. Also, one of her gay brother's friends is an ally and they end up dating. I think is a really cute idea to make it clear that you don't have to be an ally to be accepted by lgbt+ or we would be showing that we're just as bad as homophobic and transphobic people

With the first one, I completely agree and understand that he is not homophobic, he just quite literally cannot support it. He is not homophobic, let me get that clear. *But*, he definetly should have chosen better words to tell his friend. The way he said it without explaining anything makes the friends reaction completely justified. I would be mad too if someone said they didnt support me without explaining why. So in the end he is justified for not supporting, but the friend is also justified for being mad because the guy didnt care to explain his reasoning. He could have said "Oh well I cant support because of my religion, sorry" instead of just not explaining anything. (This is coming from a gay person)

People that come from the Punjabi culture , I was told to not be apart of LGBTQ+ , they would’ve don’t supported me or they would kick me out. I’ve told my parents “oh what if I was LGBTQ+ they said “oh haha I would’ve kicked you out!” It wasn’t funny so I never wanted to be apart of it. Punjabi’s have strict rules to follow. I’m always told to follow them. So please don’t hate. I don’t support LGBTQ+ , because i was told to just be normal and follow the standards. Don’t comment if you are gonna hate on me. I won’t say “that’s gross!” I would just say “alright, your choice.” I love you all for who you are. But for being a trans person in the Punjabi culture isn’t the standards you should follow because god made you for who you are. So keep it like that. All of this is for the Punjabi’s. Its fine to not support LGBTQ because of religion or some other reason but you should never judge someone if they are part of the LGBTQ or dont support it, and if you dont support it that doesn't always mean your homophobic because you never said you were homophobic in the first place. Supporting someone means when you help them and encourage them but respect is when you don't necessarily encourage them but have nothing against them, but approve of their decision as its their body.
