    No matter what she is amazing. She’s the first American gymnast to ever win team gold and aa in the same competition. She’s also the first American gymnast to win aa and come back and medal at worlds. People can say what they want but she made history plenty of times. She’s a true talent and inspiration.

Breaks my heart that this was (probably) the last floor exercise routine she would compete. I hope I am wrong. Respect to this amazing athlete. A legend.

    It’s crazy how people forget that Gabby placed Second to Biles at the 2015 Worlds. Gabby deserved to compete for an AA spot. Yes, she was brought to Rio for bars, but her pedigree and 2nd placement at Worlds the year prior mean she deserved the spot. She ended up qualifying third place to her countrywomen so she proved that she belonged there. She didn’t take anything from anyone. Laurie won a silver on BB and should be very proud of herself.

    No one forgets. Too many were unprepared for what would come next: Biles who has dominated the sport for the last 10 years and is the GOAT. I wish people would stop making excuses and turning this into some conspiracy. The gift of the universe is that Biles didn't turn 16 in 2012. If she had it would have quite possibly been a very different competition...to what? unknown. Take the win of 2012. But the Biles train was forming in the gym for years and no one really could have predicted that she'd be this wildly impressive. Gabby made history. She's no victim of the sport. There's always someone better to come, potentially. The sport gets more competitive and people don't have to make her some kind of martyr for Simone being the GOAT. Simone isn't better than just Gabby, she's the GOAT.

    Wow. All the hateful and hurtful comments ! I hope all you haters, especially if you're American, know thst YOU are in part responsible for Gabby's sadness, attitude and performance in Rio. This girl went out to represent her country, and HER OWN COUNTRYMEN STARTED HATING ON HER AS EARLY AS TRIALS. It is hard enough to get to and perform in the Olympic games, now add to that, knowing you have SO many TROLLS FROM YOUR OWN COUNTRY, all over social media, bashing, smashing, and crying how she didn't deserve a spot on this team! She did nlNOY deserve the hate she received, coming mainly from a bunch of wanna be KZread "judges" who thought they could pick a better team than Martha and the committee. If Gab had stayed off social media, didn't see the nastiness and evil comments, I think her outcomes in Rio could have been different. SHAME ON EVERY AMERICAN WHO BASHED THIS WOMAN. Oh, and yes, she did say in an interview maybe she could have put more into it and been less "cocky" about her comeback and skill level, but that still does NOT excuse an American not supporting a fellow American in the Olympic games! That is to be expected from competitive nations, NOT HER OWN!!

    JoJo - But the reason why so many people weren't very supportive of her was because of her attitude. You're saying that her attitude was poor because of the lack of support, but it was the bad attitude that came first and precipitated the criticism. Look at her in 2015, before fans were speaking negatively. I'll always be a fan of the 2012 Gabby. She changed following those Olympics.

    I had wished she kept Chow as her coach for the 2016 Olympics. I believe it would have made a huge difference in her comeback, a way better outcome for her. And I am a fan of Gabby. But it was hard for me to watch her in 2016, it broke my heart because I know she much stronger as a gymnast than what happened at the time. It felt like there something going on with her and some of her teammates. Like the fire was slowly dying in her.

    Well actually comparing QF in london and rio, gabby actually peformed stronger here, but the difference was that it was aly vs, gabby vs. simone compared to 2012 it was aly vs gabby vs jordan. Each time aly beat gabby in QF. I do think aly's bar score was a bit high, idk if that made the difference. But that said, her performance was insanely good and a different set of judges may have put her over aly, just like a different set of judges could have had her 1st 2nd or 3rd of the usa ladies in london. And her score was over 1 point better than bronze at AA Final and higher than aly's silver AA final. A 60+ is an amazing score and to get that in your 2nd olympics, being able to maintain a body for that is insanely amazing.

  • @getnasty08

    @getnasty08

    4 жыл бұрын

    Oot spagoot Yes there’s only 4 allowed up in Qual. With Kocian and Biles guaranteed a spot on UB (for obvious reasons) the US was left with two AA spots for three gymnasts who all had the potential to make it to the AA and medal. Since Gabby was actually almost as good as Kocian in bars (she scored within .2 of her in both Qual and TF) and had a real shot at an UB EF medal, she was clearly going to get the 3rd UB spot. That left one UB slot for Aly vs Laurie. Laurie is better on UB than Aly so it’s actually Aly who was given the chance to do all 4 events over Laurie when it didn’t make sense. Obviously it paid off since she took Silver but Gabby and Laurie could have too. But don’t blame Gabby, it was 100% Aly that got the jump in this case.

She was probably focused on helping team USA get gold. Plus even if she was bored, who cares?! Your opinions are irrelevant. She's not bored, she actually is genuinely happy. Plus she has gobe to the olympics before and going twice physically and mentally drains you. She was focused on her routine. The choreography is perfectly fine, she isn't a floor specialist, so her routine won't be off the charts difficult.

  • @zb6070

    @zb6070

    I think she had a lot of pressure and hate before (controversy over her making it). Also, she was under so much pressure and I think she focused on the tumbling. Simone was going to make the all-around, so it was her vs Aly (who is better on every event except for a huge difference in uneven bars) for the all-around (stupid 2 person rule). Gabby finished 3rd in the all-around qualification, but missed out due to the 2 per country rule, with a very close score to Aly (and some say should have been higher), but was I think 2+ points above the 4th place girl. So Gabby understandable was mad and nervous which her face can reflect. Gabby was on the verge of history if she could repeat a medal all-around (didn't have to be a gold, even a silver or bronze would be great) and didn't, not bc she wasn't good enough, but because of a two per country rule. Instead Aliyah Mustafina of Russia got a bronze, and Aly a silver (who both scored lower than Gabby's qualification score).

    Lebronze Blackrose Obviously she's one of the best if she can make the list for 50 greatest black athletes and make it within the top 10 alongside Simone Biles and top 6 best American gymnasts. Forgettable? Why you here then? She's the first African American gymnast to win the AA first American gymnast to win the AA and team gold at the same Olympic games, first AA champion to return and medal at World's championship #2 behind Biles after a two year hiatus from the sport, won and medaled in 3 international AA comps prior to making her 2nd Olympic team which again makes her the 1st AA champion to come back and compete at another Olympic games since Nadia Comaneci contributing to team USA's 2nd team Gold. Came 3rd in qualifying 2 points ahead of 4th place with lower D score compared to the other gymnasts along with her quals score outscoring Aly and Mustafina's during their AA final and would have easily attained AA silver had she competed. Gabby not at 100% and no passion for the sport could still compete and make it in the top 3 AA.... As an AA gymnast Gabby douglas has made it in the top 5 of every World/Olympic prelim she's ever competed in and is the first gymnast to be Immoralized in barbie figure (literally).....Like I said one of the best. 2x Olympian and 3x Olympic gold medalist one of the first AA Champs who can say they had a successful comeback none of these feats are forgettable you pressed moron. I'll never forget how she beat and outperformed your precious Komova while your whiny Komova prayed to the gods for that AA gold lmao In fact from the 2016 team none of the other gymnasts are touching her resume concerning the AA with the exception of Simone Biles...Can your faves say the same? I think NOT.
