Zinchenko only got shoved to left back by Guardiola due to lack of left footed alternatives in the squad, he's actually originally an attacking midfielder and Guardiola played him as a false 9 in said game, so it's not as crazy as it sounds at first. Zinchenko has never played a single game for the Ukranian national team as a defender, whereas he has played several games as a false nine or even a few ones as a striker. I don't know what Peps thoughts were when he played Zinchenko there but I assume that he must've thought that Zinchenko is the better passer and playmaker and can play the ball in behind the opposing defense for the wingers. Perhaps also for pressing reasons since Zinchenko is obviously much more robust defensively

@@gautamrajesh1699 Imo Jesus is a classic brazillian: he does the best when everthing run through him, he can make magic happen out of nothing, from the midfield to the wings, but while he's certainly capable of classy finishes he's not consistenly clinical. Creativity as I'm using it isn't only a compliment. Alvarez is disciplined, working hard on the press and being in position, while also being supremely talented. Creativity comes at a cost, because only Messi and R9 have been both creative and efficient at the highest level without taking away key touches from team mates. That's why Alvarez can play less minutes and still produce, because he can feed off of scraps whereas Jesus needs the full 90, a pep talk from the coach and all the plays funneled through him. Even De Bruyne , who is a world class creator is more efficient than creative, utilizing his passing range to execute perfectly time and time again. I guess when I say creative I mean the ability to adapt to an unorthodox situations: Julian and Kevin don't need to do that because they stick to the game plan, which is why I say Jesus is more "creative", but I'd rather have the other two. Not saying it's Dogma, just explaining my view to a fellow fan

Jesus needs to realize how mediocre he was in his last season with City and this was probably Pep’s way of telling him that he has lost faith in him. Being mediocre in this City team is no acceptable. And looks like he got the message and everyone got what they wanted. Sometimes it’s best not to get ugly with these things and subtly get the message through and Pep did just that

“I didn’t play in a game so I’m going home!” What a baby. Stuff like this is why Pep didn’t care if he left or not. Jesus was gone in the summer anyway with Haaland coming in. Trying to pretend it was his decision to leave. Shameless.

Right, everyone backing Jesus in the comments. Pep was the MANAGER, he obviously didn't want Jesus there however Jesus still had years on his contract. So he pushed him out. Whats wrong with that?? They all have jobs to do regardless of where they are in the pecking order. The fact Jesus cried while earning 100k+ a week is pathetic.

Could it be there you were not good enough for City? Could it be that instead of fighting for your place and proving Pep wrong you gave up? This is the difference between a great player and ok player. Hopefully you prove me wrong but can’t see it at the moment for Arsenal or Brazil 🤔

Consequently, Man city won the treble. Jesus is still struggling to score goals at Arsenal. He is just not lethal (same as Sterling, Dybala and Lautaro) to be a top striker.

Imagine quitting your million dollar contract because you don't get what you want all the time. Cry less and put more effort in. At this level it's only about: what do you bring to the table? Nothing more and nothing less.

I rather think Pep was testing Jesus and wanted to see his reaction after not starting him and putting a defense player as forward. He wanted probably to "shake" the guy and make him a hungry fighter but instead he left and got the answer he needed. He got benched once in this way, not like Ibra at Barca. Pep also won the champions league. Jesus is a "baby" from my point of view

When I tell people that Pep's calmness and lack of vengefulness will disappear again when he starts winning......he was like that in Barcelona chasing Samuel Eto'o ,Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Yaya Toure out of the team simply because they're not puppets. Personally, I think his only true accomplishment is his time at Man city. Everything before then was a master engineering left behind by someone else: Frank Rijkaard(Barcelona) and Jupp Heynckes (Bayern Munich)
