France doesn't press and consequently they don't get possession in the opponent's half with its defense being vulnerable so France have to start every attack from their half with the opponent's defense set. This makes them very predictable and nullifies a lot of their attackers strengths. Pogba and a younger Griezman and Giroud with his head) used to help create chances but this is not availabie anymore.

Wow Jules is actually knocking back some of Gabs unfounded assumptions

I think Gab is wrong about France in the same way many pundits have been at the Euros. France aren't playing negative football because they want to this time. The issue is that their entire attack is actually dysfunctional. 1) Mbappé has been terrible, even before the broken nose. 2) Giroud gets no minutes, I assume because his legs may be gone. 3) Griezmann, Deschamps' most important player, looks as tired as Kane does for England. 4) Thuram and Kolo Muani haven't been effective. Probably because they aren't true target men like Giroud. 5) Barcola gets no minutes because he's Mbappé's backup. 6) Dembele has been the bright spark of the offence, but has a low football IQ and poor finishing.

I agree with Jules in saying “so what” in response to criticism France painfully negative way of playing. But how he can have this attitude to France but not England is contradictory.

He explained the reason in another video: because France already won the World cup this way and got to the world cup final again and therefore its justified. England haven't won anything so that's why if you play bad and don't win its not justified.

Netherland struggles against teams who play aggressive with intensity like Austria , but England isn't a team like that. We saw that against Denmark, Slovakia and Switzerland when those teams play the ball England barely does anything.

This excuse that the penalty was not given because the hand was behind his back is very shaky. You can clearly see in the video why the referee did not give the penalty, he gestured showing that the hand was next to the body. Now maybe that's why VAR did not interfere, they knew the rule and decided it applies here. But if that "rule" is kept, every defender can start positioning himself with the hands stretched behind him, making himself twice as wide basically. And as long as the hands are behind the shoulders and pointing down, no penalty. Laughable stuff.
