How can discouraging ground water usage prevent soil salinity, when the reason of salinity is increasing water table due to over accumulation of water ?

Priyanka Gupta as most of ground water is saline,the usage of the same will onlh get it upwards where it increases salinity of upper not so saline layers.

Prajwal Shetty actually it's the other way round. Ground water is mostly not saline that's why it is used for drinking and irrigation. Water in the top soil is mostly saline.

Discouraging ground water usage in drought prone areas is the point here. Due to capilary action water rises up the surface, but due to excessive heat and high rate of evaporation, water content in the soil decreases rapidly due to which the concentration of residual salts and other dissolved minerals increases, making the soil saline and in-turn increasing it's rate. (I hope i am correct)

BARC me ek plant taiyyar kiya hai jo nitrogen fixing k saath salinity bhi reduce karta hai..mrunal has mentioned that in BES16 agriculture videos.You can search about that plant. Plus aap gypsum ka use kar sakte ho to remove salinity and flodd irrigation band kar dena and sprinker ya rain gun method se farming karo.

maam...excellent videos......one question though....how can the soil become acidic in leaching process when fe+al remain in the top soil....because metals are basic in nature.....i will be grateful if u can clarify this doubt.

They form iron and aluminum hydroxides by combining with water. They take up the hydrogen from water leaving a h ion free. I ll leave the rest for you to solve.

But, a machine harvesting might b a challenging task in a "Relay farming" ,isn't it ?

it is an inferred statement. Because soil becomes infertile and not fit for agriculture thus making the land like a desert. Hence in a way the desert expanded.

Can you please improve the quality of the slides?? Otherwise the quality of teaching is too good.
