Imagine knowing you got the heist big dollars stashed away but can't even splash on a new Audi 😳. It's gonna be almost impossible for him to spend on anything big. Criminal record for stealing especially from the establishment mean tarnished credit profile. He can't get a mortgage in his name for example. If he agrees to pay cash, he'll have to prove every last penny. This is not just on the UK but police will alert Interpol and blacklist him intentionally too as untrustworthy. He will have to trust a friend the law isn't aware of to make his splashes. When he receives them he'll claim they were 'gifts' but he'll have to identify who they're from. Once feds know the name, they're getting watched and ran through financially too. It ain't an easy game to play for the rest of your life, especially when you can lose the lot if some Modie from top boy type character gets the drop on you. Cash is a bitch in these times.

@Kain Riot He'll be watched for a long time if he doesn't disclose. Plus the more the money is spread out the greater the risk of someone else finding parts of the stash. If it is stashed in one place and found while he is inside then it's all been for nothing. He'll also have to keep absolutely quiet about it in prison or he may be set upon and torchured by other inmates looking for a slice of the pie. It would be a miracle if he can get out and keep it hush hush. My fear is that eventually he will be busted by a part of entire seizure of the haul.
