Wow! Always adjusted by touch. I saw your video and ordered the same tool, adjusted to 30 and now it's incredible. They were way off! Thank you!

Thanks for all these videos Pete. I ordered a Begali Pearl and of course I moved things before I read instructions lol. I've got it close enough for my use atm just from feel but I'd like to get the magnets reset precise. Thanks again! W4LJH

Any chance you'd have a brand or more descriptive name of that dynamometer?

Jan Lategahn that was a children’s TV program on the BBC called ‘Blue Peter’. They used to have items already prepared for their craft segment and used to say ‘Here is one I prepared earlier’

Excellent, I have heard about Blue Peter of course. I believe Mike Oldfield composed a theme song for it long time ago. Great (although slighly obsessive?) collection of Begali keys btw. You should expand your home if things continue in this pace 😊

Pete, Can you give us a name or model number for the dynamometer? What is the range, 0 to 50 grams?

When I purchased my Simplex Pro at the Dayton Hamvention 7 or 8 years ago, Piero told me to use a business card for spacing, and for cleaning the contacts. Mine did not come with a spacer. Ken W8ASA

I researched a little with help from PA7RG. They are called "Force Gauge Dynamometers." I note that one is 0 to 50 grams. They cost more than the keys in the USA!

I Pete, very interesting video. Having watched your video I went ahead and purchased a dynamometer similar to the one you have and it works great. In addition to my Sculpture and Simplex I also have a Begali Camelback and I was wondering if you would do a similar video on setting up a straight key. HNY and 73. Norbert VE3WNS/M0CEL

What are the pros and cons for setting the force to 20 gm compared to 40 gm? Same thing for a wider contact gap? Is it sending speed related or other things. Thanks kw1L

Hmm, wouldn’t it be easier to trap the paper gently by pressing the key, this has the advantage of not upsetting the adjustments? Also I don’t like the idea of dragging metal through gold contacts which are much softer😏
