GÅTE talking about Til Nord

Музыка

In this video, Sveinung, Gunnhild and Magnus gather to talk about the EP Til Nord, song by song. Til Nord is our first acoustic release, which presents a more lyrical and more ethereal Gåte. At the same time, we are experimenting with new ways of expressing intensity. In many ways, this EP is an expression of how things could have been done hundreds of years ago.

Great that there's some explanations in English :) I couldn't appreciate Gåte more for the art they do and the people they are, I'm in love!

Congratulations from Italy! I have enthusiastically followed you for six years. I do like this new expressive choice from electric to acoustic sound. I always love your fusion between folk and rock, tradition and modernity, music and poetry, early melodies and new arrangements. You're great and my favorite band and ensemble, absolutely. Thank you for your works.

Good work! I think it is so good to see that Gåte makes folk music living and shows that it can always evolve and develop, even when looking "back" in time

The music is truly awe-inspiring. Thank you for creating it and I sincerely hope Gåte continues in this raw acoustic direction.

I relate so hard on the part about 'Til Deg', where Gunnhild speaks of not liking happy songs. My favorite album as a child was 'Jämmer och Elände' by Maritza Horn, and most people thought that I was a bit weird for it. I wouldn't say I dislike all happy songs, but I do still find myself drawn to music that doesn't shy away from depicting the sometimes harsh realities of life.

It is so nice to see an interview with all 3 of them, in English. Did not know the full album was out already. The acoustic version of Kjaerleik speaks to my soul and that feeling is very amazing. I am really fascinated by the sporadic use of harmonium in the middle of the verse. The anticipation when it stops playing during then verse and then resumes, is so satisfying and powerful. I would be really curious to hear a studio quality acoustic rendition of the Bruremarsj frå Jämtland. Gåte's original version of it has meant more to me than I can say in words, because of when and how I discovered it, about 6 years ago and I think it is safe to say that it will stay with me for the years to come.

It's really nice to finally can see and learn more about you and your music, especially if one does not understand the most of it, but certainly nonetheless interesting to try to get the meanig by the emotions of the songs. I think I first discovered you with the single of Sjå attende and I think it was featured on arte. And I am glad you are back for a while now and I discovered you again! Keep up doing talking and explaining videos too, nice to learn more! Greetings from Germany :).

It's nice to see and hear you! I have been listening to your music with enthusiasm since 2005 and could hardly believe our luck when you came back with Attersyn and Svevn. Of course I also bought Til Nord two weeks ago - a great experiment and beautiful - especially Kjærleik (always my favorite song). But will you return to the electric rock sound or will you stay acoustic in the future? I love both sides of your music! Greetings to the north from the middle of Germany.
