"＃谷口養鯉場 ＃コーン ＃ゴールデンコーン ＃錦鯉 ＃taniguchi #koi #cone 谷口養鯉場”谷口陽一社長”作出の新品種”コーン”。ゴールデンコーン生産の中の副産物として誕生した。当初は銀鱗が吹いていないコーンは選別漏れとしていたため、谷口養鯉場にも４歳以上の個体はほとんど残っていない、、。たまたま残した３匹のコーンが成長と共に頭角を表し、驚くべき変化を遂げたとの事である。
　１−２歳時では山吹色の地肌に小豆色の鹿の子が現れ濃くなっていく、大きさが60㎝を超え4歳ごろになると側線より上方に浅黄地が出てくる。そのインディゴブルーから透過して見える山吹色は緑灰色に見える。側線より下方は浅黄色がかからないため、鹿の子の部分も上方より明るい小豆色を呈している。そのため、側線を介して上方と下方では色調が異なり、それがなんとも言えない表情を見せている。本品種は銀鱗が吹いていないため、ゴールデンコーンよりもより大型化が期待できる。無地にも関わらず、鹿の子模様や色調の変化を楽しめるという利点もある。本品種は小豆色の鹿の子を持つため、ラセットコーン（小豆色のコーン）とも呼べるのではなかろうか、、。
　今回、購入した"コーン"と"変わり鯉タイプのゴールデンコーン"は40㎝前後である。今後の成長変化を楽しみつつ、経時的変化については追って報告する予定である。

At 1 to 2 years old, a red bean-colored pique appears on the bright yellow background, and when the size exceeds 60 cm, a Asagi-indigo color appears above the lateral line. The bright yellow that shines through the indigo blue looks green-gray. The area below the lateral line is not covered by indigo color, so the pique also has a brighter red bean color than above the lateral line. Therefore, the color tone differs between the upper and lower parts of the lateral line, giving it an indescribable expression. Personally, I would like to call it a "russet corn" because of red bean-colored pique.
