I remember finding the first wave at Roses back in '82. I was blown away with the accessories. I picked up Short Fuze because of the visor -- as a 12 year old, I just thought it looked cool. :) Happy times.

As soon as I saw Snake Eyes when I was a kid, I knew I had to have all of these. Still have them.

I lost my mind when I saw this commercial. Later that night I went to Kmart and got Snake Eyes.

I’ve been fortunate enough to have 90% of the collection. I stopped in 92 when they came out with sonic force and street fighter figures. At that point it was going downhill. In 1986 I picked up 3 USS Flagg’s because it was reduced by 50% and because no one could afford them. My favorite toys from the collection were the store exclusives. My uncles and grandparents helped me when some were available at stores that weren’t in my hometown. I still have everything to this day.

I got Short Fuse first, and waited quite a while to finally get the always elusive Snake Eyes.

I know it's been 9 years but thanks for posting this. I loved the G.I. Joe toys, comics and show as a kid. Larry Hama was great as a writer and character creator. I don't remember seeing this commercial as a kid but I would have loved it.

GI Joe had such a great toy line up from the beginning. The 80s Joe toys were really something special.

Fact: Scarlett's hair was tied to a ponytail so that her head can move freely.

I wish they would have made more snake-eyes with the orginal goggles.... most of the snake eye toys had that single visor...while that is cool it wouldl ahve been awesome to see more of a variety!
