I have heard a lot of kpop songs and solo album songs from various groups and solo members,from all of that i love Miyeon s "My" album and the songs are masterpiece.i am in love with all songs in "My" album and forever fresh when hear it again.thats the power of Miyeons Vocals.its incredible 😍🥰👑🌹💃

Still one of my most replayed albums through all of K-pop. Like a warm hug on a sunny but still a bit chilly spring evening. Every song is incredibly fitting to Miyeon's voice and her personality. A lot of people have Te Amo as their favourite but personally i really love Charging.

Sonagi / Rain was produced by Yuqi by the way, so your comment at the end was pretty funny. She said in an interview that she found the song a bit cheesy when she worked on it, so it was perfect for Miyeon. Love their unfiltered relationship.

First time commenting, but I've been loving your discovery journey for idle. You have some talent for this reaction business, haha. I know views are slow but am hoping all the best for you One thing that struck me while watching your journey is how much the girls have changed & improved over the years. Miyeon at debut was hesitant, shy & not able to project her charms through the camera. Seeing her now as the confident Korean entertainment show "princess", you realize how far she has come from where she started. The same is kinda true for each member of idle (except perhaps Soyeon, who has just always been great). They have grown as singers, entertainers, artists. Idle took time to become a powerhouse partially because the members took time to grow. And this is so rare in the industry. Everyone is geared for immediate success and you just rarely get the time / opportunity / willpower to grow to your potential (together with your fans). Perhaps, Soyeon's genius bought them the time to get there but a group like idle getting the freedom to do what they want, at this level of success, just doesn't come along too often. And I'm just glad to be able to enjoy it. Btw, the 4th member of that Begin Again clip goes by the stage name of Bol4, and is one of the most successful Korean singer-songwriters of the past decade. Also, the "Begin Again" performance of "Drive" is my favourite rendition of the song, so do check it out in your own time

To be fair, more like co-composed with Dress, while Yuqi was the main producer of hers (with Siixk Jun I believe as co-producer and arranger).

This was one of my favorite albums from that year, and it still really holds up. Te Amo is the standout for me, but I think every song has its merits. To think too that she was just coming off of extended Tomboy promotions straight into promoting this album is pretty crazy, but I think goes part of the way to explain why the B-sides got a little less love. I know Rain holds a special place in her heart considering that it was composed by Yuqi and was Miyeon's debut as a songwriter. The Begin Again version of Drive is fantastic too: kzread.info/dash/bejne/qYSnuLWteZSzZNo.html As for Minnie and Shuhua solos...Minnie has not been shy about hinting that she is working on a solo album, but that it fits more of a winter vibe. Yuqi even said that she got to jump Minnie in line because Freak was more of a summer song. I would not hold your breath for a Shuhua solo, though. Any time she's ever been asked about it, she said she wasn't interested.

Some background info on Junny. Yes he is primarily an R&B singer and dabbles in KHH. He does a lot of songwriting too, mostly for SM artists like EXO, NCT, SHINEE, but also quite a few others like Billlie and IU. He is one of the regular hosts on the Get Real podcast with BM (KARD), Peniel (BTOB), and Ashley (Ladies Code). He is from Vancouver, and the others are Korean-American, so the whole point of the podcast is they bring on a lot of English speakers within the Korean entertainment industry (idols, indie artists, influencers, actors, etc.) and get their takes on specific topics while also spilling as much tea as they're allowed to about the industry itself. It's been super insightful and eye opening on the realities of being a celebrity over there, while also covering topics that your everyday average person can very much relate to.

Miyeon & Lee Mujin cover of Dangerously by Shawn Mendes is really good

Self generated translations are hilarious. They are like an alien who was given a english for dummies book to study but he was too lazy to read more than half of it anyways while understanding even less. I dunno, I respecfully disagree with you on Softly. I think the harmonies on that , included the harp, are perfectly in balance with the melodic line. Like much of the album, there is a nice balance between a sweet melody and some discordant harmonical lines and arrangements, but never going too far with it. But hey, to each its own. GIve it another chance sometime. First impression are sometimes deceitful, but hey, if its not your thing, then its not your thing. She has done a plethora of osts and wondefull covers. Each Idle member has done them. You wont lack cover material in your deep dive either. Those Miyeon begin again lives are a teasure. She just released a Rodrigo´s Vampire one last week in Hong Kong that is fire. Miyeon really is a fascinating addition to Idle. On the surface, she seems to be more fitting to early Twice or any other sweet gir group, but her voice fits heavier, more rock oriented tracks too. Like with almost anything in IDLE, if you scrapp beneath the surface, you´ll get surprised. There are some DARK and menacing moments in Idle´s discography that she nails pretty much to perfection. She also makes Idle far more versatile. The dreamy voice of Minnie, the deep rock star sound of Yuqi, the chamaleonic Jack of all trades of Shuhua and the sweet and sometimes darker voice of Miyeon, with the mastery of rap and emotional singing of Soyeon is what makes this group so unique. They have a vast arsenal of resources, each member offering someting unique to the whole, truly a group of individuals that fit into a group like a glove. Like what you were saying about her tone, uniqueness is Idle´s main feauture. Six individuals indeed. You´ll probably get more out of her personality from Idles own variety or from more personal interviews than from i-talk and more generic variety shows. Hyemilecahaepa is a perfect vehicle for her. She does go against the grain in that regard too. She acts like a princess, but is also hilarious crackhead that defies your expectations. An elegant royal clown is not something you think you are going to say out loud about anybody every day, is it. If you want a closer look at her singing and personality, I greatly recommend her Lee Mujin Special episode. As a curiosity, two songs were co-composed by Belle (yes, one of the is Softly and the other one is Charging, at least you liked that one), from Kiss of LIfe. One of the co-producers of Te Amo was Julia Michaels, one of the songwriters from Disney´s movie Wish, which is so a propo, a Disney songwriter writting for our princess is something you cant make up. The stand out one of course for neverlands is Rain, track number six. Composed by Yuqi and with Lyrics by Miyeon herself, our first songwriting credit for the princess. 2022 post Tomboy Yuqi was kinda funny. She got this song´s lyrics (the original was called Promise) scrappped and written from scratch by Miyeon. And then in Idle´s EP I Love, same thing happened. Her two songs (Reset and X-file) mantained the music, but the original lyrics wre scrapped and rewritten from scratch by Soyeon. And it is not like the lyrics were bad or that she is a bad lyricist at all. You can hear, if you want, part of the demos from a vlive for all three of them if you look for them on youtube. I did chuckle a bit when you noticed her lower register and talked about your desire of Yuqi playing guitarr on that song´s acoustic version, taking in consideration that it was a Yuqi song.

This is my favorite album from 2022, Miyeon absolutely nailed it. Still regularly listen to it, all the way through. edit: Soojin's second mini has my favorite B-Side of the year so far. Lime slaps, even though it's so aggressively chill it should be boring.
