​@Praxyia Of course, there is a contradiction between the message to be said and some lyrics. But I think it's the best they can do as a kpop idol. Just a few years ago,in Korea, there were a lot of passive female lyrics... Because Korea is not a country where feminism flourished early like the West..Korea is slow but changing, and the direction of idle is quite a fresh trend in female idols.

It sounds exactly like the stuff sales people try to say to you when you're checking out so you'll buy their clothes. Or what people say at the nail salon so you'll give a higher tip. It's fake sounding but the entire song sounds a tad fake, which (IMO) was the point

Why are people saying that lyrics are cringy? “Kwinka” (the word they are saying in Korean) is actually a term for a popular girl in high school, something like “Queen bee”. So basically they are saying that every girl can be a Queen, if she wants to, thus getting her “queen card”. And the lyrics should be a little silly because it’s a fun song, that conveys the spirit of the 2000s’ teens movies

The way Yuqi sings those lines sounds like she's mocking these remarks like who tf still says sexy like Kim Kardashian and pretty like Ariana nowadays. @@SHIFTsvideos I really don't think it's cringe though! Of course, it's just my personal opinion. I think it's fun and something I would sing loudly! I think people make it cringe tbh. Artists, even more on Kpop, should sing more "freely" like this and there is always poetic license. I feel like Soyeon truly uses it and makes it fun, provoking (even more on kpop) and something just really direct and without using too many metaphors, for example.

In a korean context, the lyrics are actually quite well thought out. But I do agree that some english lyrics are kinda tossed around out of nowhere sometimes😅 But for koreans it doesn't sound that bad.
