I have read that they made the song since men in Korea search for children nude, and now this song pops up. In my latest lecture we spoke about a theory from the feminist film theorist Laura Mulvey where she explains the term “The male gaze”, a term that basically explains how women are sexualised. It makes a lot of sense, especially if you know the story of Marlyn Monroe. I think it’s very well performed

i've never really been a fan of k-pop but this song and m/v is so powerful and the message sends shivers down my spine

I love how well shuhua and Minnie fit this concept. And the message is so important and needs to be talked more. Stop putting these kpop idols in such sexual positions, not just the fans but also the companies. Especially when they’re minors. And stop sexualizing them for how they look naturally

From the first day I watched this MV, I was certain that, in my opinion, this is the best MV in human history, and to this day I watch it always, and my opinion will not change until the world proves otherwise. everything is perfect in this mv

Apart from the fact that the theme is something that is the first time I've seen in kpop and it's amazing, I think it's also the first time that the artists' 'seductively stare at the camera' doesn't bother me. I usually hate those kind of out of the blue shots in videos but this time it makes sense with video and song. Love it and all the references.

They always have amazing art visual😍

I love how they incorporated different historical timelines when women's rights were threatened by patriarchal ideals. G IDLE seems to be commenting on the feeling of freedom in a journey of womanhood and they are not necessarily saying they want to be "nude", but want to portray how their bodies a woman's body is perceived through the masculine lens. This song gives off such nostalgic, rebellious, and confident feelings, and I am impressed by how much meaning and work our female Korean music artists are putting into their work!!

there are some others too (from 2nd generation, such as Brown Eyed Girls, SISTAR, SunnyHill, Secret, from newer ones MAMAMOO, EVERGLOW, etc) so they are not the only ones, but yeah (G)I-DLE is really amazing

i love how they're using words with different meaning. like in the previous cb they were clothing feminen while saying 'yeah i'm f tomboy' and in this one with fully clothed 'yes, i'm nxde'.. this is what i call art, they make you think about the actual message. something pretty rare in kpop
