It's different because it's their debut song, so of course less evolved than later songs, more mainstream and funny song. A good summer song :o)

some info: LATATA was created by Soyeon when their company delayed their debut cox they dont have a song yet. Soyeon created and presented it to the management and finally approved, thus giving them their debut song. -LATATA was indeed an onomatopeoia. Soyeon was into Latin shows back then,, and while watching a gag show, the actor said "LATA LATA LATA", to her it sounded like a magic spell, so she made it into "LATATA: that means "spell of love", thus the lyrics (the English version implied this more) -The MV might not match the song meaning at all since they wanted to show a playful and child-like theme since their name is I-DLE that sounds like "aideul" which means "children" in Korea. -The intro with the mask scene is a shoutout to Soyeon's 2 solo songs (pre-IDLE) "JELLY" and "IDLE SONG", Soojin (one with the mask), was included in those song but only introduced as "fox friend". Throwing the mask means that they don't have to hide anymore since this is their official debut. -The stealing/lollipop scene, Miyeon took half of their things, lured them with candy, but then tried to sell those back to them. The 2nd part where they are playing games, they wanted it to be weird like they are the characters in the game, but still playful and chaotic enough, thus the golf, and tennis with changing ball.

Soyeon said she get the word Latata from the cartoon/children series that she saw when she was young. Latata is the word that the main actor use to say when he want something as the magic.
