I have this shit on my brain so I'm gonna share it. Have y'all ever heard "White people stealing black people music." some of y'all have some of y'all haven't. I appreciate the black culture for influencing all these kinds of genres of music that evolved into rap and hip hop, my favorite genre of music. I don't appreciate hearing that white people are stealing hip hop and rap because they're participating in the art. There's not a list of things that's divided between white and black people, if there was it'd be childish as hell. I also find it fucked up when people say they don't like a rap artist because they're white. G-Eazy has a nice ass flow, I admit some of his songs are modernized to most of the popular rap we here today, which I don't particularly enjoy, but all in all he makes some of the best beats and shares some amazing lyrics. Can't we all agree that rap is bomb af and that anyone that enjoys it and is inspired by it can indulge and make it their career despite the color of their skin.

Alexis H It's not that nobody that isn't black can't or shouldn't rap, it's that a white man can produce profits at a faster rate than a black rapper. This is historically true, Elvis, Eminem, Macklemore, Iggy, Beach Boys- a lot of white artists have profited by stealing from black musicians . I haven't looked too much into G Eazy, but it's alot important to note the political relevance of hip hop, and that if a white rapper wants to profit off of hip-hop he needs to speak about black issues. It comes down again to loving black culture and wanting to exploit it without doing anything for the black community. So yeah anyone can enjoy rap/hip hop but there is something still ill about a white man profiting off of it when this country still doesn't give a damn about black lives.

+echoesinla I gotta say it'd be extremely hard for a white rapper to talk about black issues because almost every time they can't relate. It'd be too hard to convey a message that you can't relate to, and ultimately the artist would more than likely receive a lot of flack for trying to relate and come off as a try hard. Most people wouldn't look at it like "I see what you're trying to say, but you kinda missed that mark. A for effort though." type of way which would just hurt the artist more. So overall it'd be better for them to stick to what they can relate to as that is mainly what music is about. Also, try and look at all the success that black culture has had in hip hop compared to white rappers and be proud in that.

African Americans had to go through hell just to make it to poverty...Yes I said POVERTY... and yes there were great leaders such as Malcolm X , Dr. King, Marcus Garvey and countless others but the problem was so widespread that there were disagreements on how to handle the Black American Plight.Meanwhile blacks were still being treated unfairly during the segregation phase while other minority groups (regardless of race) had received reparations and other advantages so they didn't have to deal with the subconscious mind creating unconscious bias and discrimination based on skin color... (Look up the brown paper bag test)... There were tons of "legal" lynchings that were never reported hence the song (strange fruit) and countless rapes, murders and injustices done to blacks in America and yes the trickle down effect is real that is why it still effects most blacks today... The conditioning and brainwashing of the black community itself because of Willie lynch syndrome coupled with drugs and poverty trained those in poverty... to just not care, and to not value life as much and this way of thinking just passed down because it was NEVER addressed and believe it or not all of this was NOT that long ago... I am not saying that Africans (and other races) in Europe, Canada and other places in the world don't have to face prejudices but the history IS NOT the same...that is why most black's in other regions of the world know their background...Africans (all types) , Jamaicans, Trinidadians , and countless others can pretty much tell you about their roots... Blacks in America had there culture stolen. So African AMERICAN culture was created through many other avenues...Such as R&B, hip hop, style of clothing, African American Soul food, African American Vernacular English otherwise known as Ebonics(that people LOVE to imitate), Kwanzaa,and The Gullah people. All of these thing's positive or negative make up the Black experience in America. So while most blacks don't give a shit about white rappers (especially ones that are talented and come from a genuine place) please understand and respect some aspects of the culture before you comment... Anyways, I truly just think if you're a producer from the bay you can make it as a rapper it's much harder. The whole being associated with hyphy movement and constantly bringing it up thing makes people think we're just that and not many get it. Many people hate it as a matter of fact.

I'm so glad they touched (as slight as it was) on the whole Mustard vs. The Bay deal. Northern Cali classics: E40, in a major way: Three times Krazy Stackin Chips, Brotha lynch hung Season of the sickness, Mac Mal illegal business, Mac dre stooped doodoo dumb, Spice one:Spice 1, Luniz Operation Stackola, Too Short, Born to Mack: Digital Underground, Sex Packets, 2 pac, Me against The World.

On one hand I think the culture of independent rap is what allows the Bay to be so innovative and experimental, but on the other hand it seems to suffer from a lack of management. There's a ton of independent talent in the Bay but these guys are putting out like 100 songs a year on back-to-back mixtapes. There's not enough editing taking place. They could actually benefit from a label rep around telling them to tighten it up and not just record everything that comes to mind. The good news is that it's cheaper than ever to record your own album and music video, but the bad news is that when there's less skin in the game then the album quality standards tend to drop.

He makes good music that is a different style than other rappers that have come before him. If you don't like him, don't listen, but it would be a shame if you didn't.

There certainly is a reverse racism in America. For example my family didn't even come here until 100 years after slavery was abolished. Nobody in my bloodline was at any point a slave owner.
