fx-CG50: Solving for x Using Multiple Methods
This video shows how to solve for x using several different menus on the Casio fx-CG50 Prizm graphing calculator. The Run-Matrix, a great option for linear equations. The Graph menu for finding roots and specific values of x for given outputs of a function. The Table Menu for seeing multiple values of x for multiple outputs. Finally, the Equation Solver that lets you solve functions specifically for roots, simultaneous equations, and specific linear function outputs.

You are in the wrong mode - parametric vs. y=. Go into Run-Matrix menu, choose Shift-Menu for Set up. Go to Function Type and select Y= (yours will say your are in Param....) Once done, you will now get x.

What is the difference between Solve and SolveN?

And why do I get a "Syntax ERROR" when trying to solve an equation with sums (sigma notation) using SolveN?

@@mateogullon3092 Solve is for solving calculations, where you only have an x for example. The SolveN is for functions that might have more than one variable, where you can choose the variable to solve for and you can then solve for a chosen variable (so x^2 +y^2-3, y). Unfortunately, you cannot use d^2/dx^2, FMin, FMax, Sum in the SolveN - these will result in syntax errors, as you have noted. Here is a link to the manual that explains this a bit more: support.casio.com/storage/en/manual/pdf/EN/004/fx-CG50_Soft_v350_EN.pdf Go to page 77
