I just wish ifi used 18awg cables for their ipower X. The ipower2 sounds better to me prob because of its better cable. But funnily enough the 5v ipower X model uses 18awg, 9/12/24v dont though lol. Ipower2 uses 18awg on every single model.

How does this compare to the topping dx3pro+ in terms of detail retrieval and dynamics as well as tonality? With and without the ifi power supply. Also, amazing videos, the most helpful audio-gear reviews I've come across.

From the looks of the images on audiophonics it has two replaceable dip8 op amps in side. So maybe the sound can be improved further

Did you try it with different op amps?

You can still upgrade the power cable of the C200 (It made a difference on both my Aune X8 XVIIIth (with linear Aune powersupply) and on the Aune S17 pro. I am going to try it on my SMSL M500 MK III. Upgrading the power supply of my Argon Solo with a iPower X made a significant difference (and I run that with the optical output.) I don't think much of the design of the DR07. Ugly decal.

Have you compared DAC performance with affordable SMS SU-1?

Without PS upgrade it's virtually the same DAC performance with SU-1.

This or topping dx3+ ?

A better option for a psu is the Fiio PL 50 linear psu for 169 Euro

I would go for SMSL SU-9 Ultra. It fits right into the budget and I don't know anything else sounding better at that price.

@@iiWiReviews - Yep, just got it and hooked it up. It is replacing the SMSL D6, which made its home connected to the classroom stereo system. The SMSL D6 of course sounds better in all areas compared to just using the computer headphone jack. However, the SMSL D6 just sounds thin compared to the SMSL 9U, especially in the lower bass and lower midrange. Many thanks for your advice, Dave

No I didn't. That's fun to do if you have one or two devices but makes review super long and testing much longer.
