By incorporating the latest technologies, and reducing the overall environmental impact. Development is already underway on a number of them so, in this video, we'll be taking a look at 7 incredible futuristic cities that are planned by 2050.

On this planet, we love slavery. It is our default to exchange our life force with a master who promises to take care of us.

We are all slaves to something. If we don't work and pay our taxes then the government can't keep our infrastructure alive. We work to support our family and provide for our children, even if you're self sufficient you still depend on people around when you need medical assistance, materials or experts to repair the technology that lets you be "self sufficient". I'll never understand people who come here to complain about technology. You're using internet, you're using the technology that you hate so much yet you are supporting it by buying technology and interacting/giving sites the traffic they need. Stop fooling yourself and either remove yourself from the system or just accept human nature and do something to fix it in your immediate sorroundings. How do you think the Dutch managed to make their cities bike centric? They went out there, created communities and convinced their neighbors to ride their bikes instead.

It's only a prison if you don't want to be the property of your corporation. (See ESG) and you don't want to earn your right to leave your square block by being a "good citizen," and you don't want to have no hope of owning a car or you don't want to be geofenced in with "Smart Streetlights" that can talk and electrocute you if you step out of line. If you're a good worker and your company gives you enough points on your blockchain identity, you will get extra rations of crickets.

It's hard to support these projects that are focused still on systems based on the belief that humans are "workers" and "consumers". Also there is not enough focus on sustainability, eliminating our reliance on the auto and oil industries. I would prefer to see projects that support plans for shorter work weeks (3 or 4 days), free access to education and artistic development, competent mental healthcare, and disease prevention healthcare.

Impresive projects! A unique material showing the plans of futurists. I provide security support to cities and analyze this area of Smart City. Digital transformation is very rarely also shown as an improvement in the safety of residents. In addition, few urban strategies in Poland (perhaps in other countries as well) relate to this basic human need - security. In reality, however, many practical activities are related to the implementation of devices or the offer of services supporting residents in this area. Make a program about it - I'll be happy to get involved.

It's a double edged sword. While having a city "become smart" and digitalizing all the data about traffic and having cameras helping catch criminals (which is easier than the alternatives) might make it easier and safer for everyone, it also creates a system you're dependant on which can cut you off at any given moment due to corruption or power hungry people. Don't you dare be a dissidant in a country that has every single bit of information to the point of the places you frequently visit and all your routine/routine breaking patterns, as it will be way too easy to punish you with severe strenght to make an example out of you for daring to question their mighty rule. This also opens hacker's oportunities to abuse the system and go for some really dubious deeds. Whats the alternative for security? Brainwash society through government, news media and the education system, which, the west is currently suffering from such an attempt to install communism through socialism and identity politics to divide and conquer. An entire movement which main goal was the greater good, brainwash everyone to stop wars and end the whole "capitalists exploiting the lower class for money and power". Either way we're screwed, so i'll say just bring in more tech, at some point when we're able to leave the solar system, humanity will be free to go wherever outside of govt's reach, and history will repeat itself on other planets too. Just gotta learn to live with it or flee far enough to be able to live unbothered by humanity's nature.

Here's the thing about some of these cities; it's not a new concept. These are what's called "Company Towns" and they existed in the early 20th century... and there's a reason they died off, too. That's more of a red flag to me than anything.

  • @flakgun153

@Flak153 Tell me you don't know what a company town is without saying you don't know what a company town is. Also, that's a flat-out lie; many towns did not start out as company towns and company towns are a very specific thing. The company doesn't just build a town and turn it loose to the public: they literally run the town. There are actually quite a few videos out there that explain why Company Towns aren't a good thing.

@@SeanStrife this isn't a company town then by your definition either. These cities are being built but the local businesses are their own private companies. And the Businesses's workers aren't paid in rent. They just pay normal rent to their employer.

Actually i like that the cities will use a green energy which not pollution enviroment, daily services needed by resident placing accessible within 5 minutes walking distance and cities have a beautiful and impressive design. And i was also suprised that will be use exploit smart home technology and it increadible that in texas city at the center Starbase will be the main launch facility being operetad by spacex. I hope that future cities will can provide efective and successful conditios for human development, nature will be pure and people will be happy in peace.
