That's only one side of the coin. 90% of backend features are now provided by Saas companies and no backend engineer is need for that. For ex crashlytics, analytics, user authentication OTP based features, database etc by companies like firebase, moengage and amplitude And slowly need of backend devs will also narrow down. Whereas the complexity in android is increasing day by day. An experienced Android developer is high demand now.

Totally agree with you that demand of android developer is super high. But 90% backend feature provided by Saas but still manages by the developer and BE demand not going to narrow down in upcoming days.

If you are in college or if you starting phase of your career, then focus only on 1 thing and after 2-3 years you can start learning other stuff
In my opinion i think android should take a leap year and focus on smoothness and optimizations throughout android
