First time I played this, and saw Gohan charge up that last Kamehameha, I really thought they were gonna pull an alternate scenario where Gohan awoke his hidden potential at last, and managed to beat the Androids all by himself... But the future refused to change. :(

I like this version of it more; creates a somewhat of a call forward when a one-armed Gohan defeats the android that's threatening his world; kind of a succeeding where the Future Gohan had failed.

That last kamehameha is so poetic with how similar it is to his last kamehameha in the cell games.

The death scene where trunks found him was better in the original but gohans final stand was a lot better since he never did the beam struggle in the special, I'm not a fan of trunks voice though he sounded better in the original since it was a slightly higher pitched version of the regular future trunks voice and he was around 14 so it made sense

I hope I’m not the only person who wishes Gohan had the og voice actor for this scene. Would’ve been way more badass. The new one is fine, but he lacks the urgency of the previous. The new VA just doesn’t spark that old school dbz feel, rather, it feels like dragon ball super if that makes sense. Dbz was dark and dreary, while super gives off a feeling of vibrance and calm.

I was crying the whole time he powered that kamehameha up can’t even lie...

Everything about this last fight scene is so perfect. From the music to the cutscenes

The parallel between Gohan blasting the androids in a similar fashion to Frieza doing so to goku, only with the roles reversed is a really nice touch. Kinda poetic, in a way.

The most fitting way to make the two DBZ TV Specials masterpieces. They did something great with these ones.

They really sat there and made up play as a weak and defenseless gohan until the androids finally finished him off. That’s just brutal

@@zerocks88 Yes I am not kidding or making it up to brag. My healing items wrre greyed out I could not use any of them.... But if your want my advice, when the battle starts Stun 18 by repeating the gut punch move (can't remember the name of the attack) then keep punching until stun bar fills and right before kamehameha. When they attack in duo's when they are powered up and do cross dance, FLY AWAY! until they are tired out, they can't hit you if you fly away. 0% chance.

@@zerocks88 Oh and I of course, there is luck. Luck that you won't get any health dmg in the start while trying to stun. Also avoid 17 his green attacks which traps you. The attack he does afterwards with the blasts does a lot of damage. And keep attacking both and don't focus on one because both of them at around 3.5x health will keep running and avoiding your attacks. Very, very annoying..

after my reply I saw users comment they'd not had enough healing items, I realised I Hadn't been using any.. so the few times I got one of the "androids" to 40% and the other dead I felt better about next play through wiped them clean off the.... wait they won? oh :P I didn't see that coming but at least I was able to progress in the game Thanks for reading

The sad thing is that Trunks become a Super Saiyan after Gohan's Death! Gohan's Death was the trigger for the Transformation! Gohan never see trunks as a Super Saiyan!

Honestly, compared to the TV special, this one absolutely and to 100% didn't do Gohan completely dirty He literally went out with a bang. This also perfectly showed you why the Androids were so frightening. The Androids having unlimited stamina really was what brought Gohan down in the end All in all, definitely my favourite version of the story. Same with the Bardock DLC. This for sure is the definitive version of reliving the story

This really say something about the”I won’t go down without a fight” phrase

Damon Clarke voiced Future Gohan and Eric Vale voiced Future Trunks in the anime special and it should've happened when Warrior of Hope was created. It's also a darn shame that they couldn't use Dream Theater's song's as the soundtrack to the game. Future Gohan could've moved out of the way before getting killed, but he let himself die so that Trunks could transform into a Super Saiyan. Wish Gohan would have done that Kamehameha in the anime movie.

Damon Clarke did the voice of Future Gohan, it's the only time he does this, cause in the DBZ video games and during a flashback scene in DBS, he is voiced by Kyle Hebert. I think that Damon Clarke did a great job voicing the character, cause he's serious and brutal when he talks. KH did good on voicing Future Gohan, but he sounded soft spoken when talking to Trunks, 17 and 18.

@Mutable Cloud110 I don't know why they decided to make Teen Trunks sound like a kid, the character needs to get redone. I felt like I was watching Kid Trunks from the Majin Buu Saga. Eric Vale voiced Teen/Future Trunks in the The History of Trunks special. He voiced Teen Trunks again during the flashback of DBS, but the sound in his voice changed to a lighter tone, you can really hear Teen Trunks voice break when he screams. I watched both scenes, then compared them and my vote is for The History of Trunks. The color palette was also was another fault in the DBS flashback. I'm not sure if our voice's change as we get older or something.

gohan was completely gassed in this version of events, he couldn’t move anymore, only push and resist. in the Special, he got blindsided and probably let himself die instead of escaping yes, here though, he had no hope of getting away and i think that’s why this is better

As epic & noble as That last Kamehameha was, it just pissed me off even more knowing it wouldn't work for Gohan...

The ost is so good

In this timeline Gohan gave up. He must have felt like there was nothing left to fight for. Even during the Cell games. Goku needed to remind Gohan what was at stake and he needed to see the actions of his closest friends and former enemies. To push himself and overpower Cell. What I want to know is why did Goku not try to communicate with Gohan here? And why did Goku not show up to try and stop the Androids himself? Even though he died from the heart virus. We've seen him break the rules before. Or have himself granted temporary permission to stay on Earth. Gohan and Trunks fought the Androids for 13 years. Why didn't Goku come down to Earth during that time to help? We know he likely trained nonstop on King Kai's planet.

Well your androids seem polite. The ones I am currently trying to beat are ruthless. Once I get one down a health bar they both come at me non stop with super moves. Absolutely relentless.

I loved how hard this fight was, it took me a few times but wow. Best fight in the entire game. You will get better and suddenly you will beat them without healing much if you avoid them wel enough.

BRO this fight reminds me so much of the jiraya vs pain boss battle in NSUNS2, that had me crying fr😭😭

Having to fight with no power seriously broke my heart. Nearly cried.

I can see why i really love Bardock and Future Gohan a lot they did everything in their power to change the future but they couldn't do it. Just like in really life sometimes we cannot change some things even with all our strength but is not what we can change but what we do to help the next generation be better that us could ever be. Their sacrafice wasn't in vain because Goku and Trunks became their legacy of greatness.

The third DLC is finally here.

After my 6th attempt, I figured out the strategy. Focus on 18 since she's the most annoying at long rage and spam the kamehameha as much as you can. It's the biggest damage dealer at your disposal

Man seriously. I love this game but the combat mechanics really need work. The a.i will just spam ultimates the entire fight and those annoying uninterruptable attacks almost ruin an otherwise fun combat system.

Nah, Gohan was cooked either way. Even with Trunks around, it won’t be enough to beat those Androids. Sure Trunks said he was stronger but couldn’t unlock super saiyan. He only did so when Gohan died and even then several years later that wasn’t enough. It took him going back to the past and training with Vegeta to even overwhelm them in the first place. Had he not do that, Trunks would’ve died for nothing

Only reason he lost in the second phase is because he tried to finish the androids with a full powers Masenko Prematurely That and the fact they were fighting at half power

When these events happen, trunks was younger than we he first time travels since a bit of time passes before bulma builds the time machine. So it makes sense, don't worry though in the DLC once trunks gets to the point after he time travels, they use the future trunks voice. Its a lot of attention to detail.
