As a Fluance owner, this is much appreciated
Pretty sure they used to do this with the "PnP" line with specially made headhsells but then discontinued them? Nice that they're offering something similar again.
Ortofon have done this for years with their DJ cartridges which were a doddle to install on a 1210. This is great news for audiophiles.
Excellent news, I have been wanting for this for 2 years, each time I call Henley Audio they says it’s been discontinued, I will be calling them on Monday 👏🏻 thank you
Very smart
Excellent news! I don’t see them on the website yet. Any links?
Yea, it’s a good approach. Audio Technica do a similar thing. The pre-mounted alignment can be a bit off out of the box, but it’s an easy adjustment.
I was actually considering one of these for a future turn table, nicenicenicenice. May just be buying one of these.
They did this with that pnp line before. It's what i have in my turntable. The only thing i don't like about it though is you can't set the cartridge alignment so, for example, on my turntable, it's off by a millimeter or two. Not that big of a deal but annoying if you really want it perfectly dialled down. If this line comes with one of their LH series headshells which would allow custom alignment, this would be perfect
Good idea.
Almost a return of the old P-Mount carts (if anyone remembers those).
The have been offering cartridge plus head Shell ready to go for many years.
Yes this is great news
This is a lifesaver - always trust John to break news that really makes a huge change for us noobs
Would a plug and play work on a Sme 2009 series ii non improved?
the question is .. is the stylus set to 52mm for Technics it doesn't say on their website..
Great news Don’t forget to check your azimuth when you install it. Good video thanks
Take them from the market and bring them back few years later, everybody will talk about it. Strange. Almost Nobody bought them all the years they were available as PNP Version, but now that's hot??? 😂🎉
been around for years.
Where do I get it in the UK?
Won't be correctly aligned depending on the turntable and need fine adjusting. For Technics - use the alignment tool!
The also make 2MR specific for Rega so no need to adjust VTA
If only somone can market something like this (pre-mounted with an aluminum HS) but for Nagaoka MM carts..
Gauranted it wont be corrected for zenith or azimuth error, nor will it be set to any accurate Stylus rake angle (think also of all the variation people have in platter matt thickness). Ortofon will simply mount these cartridges per a predefined alignment geometry as a "set and forget" ignoring all of the above listed variables . Aligning to a standard geometry is a 5min job that literally anyone can do... even the most new of newbies. In my eyes, what ortofon is offering doesnt really help anyone unless they are truly, truly not interested in cartridge setup. I mean if someone spent $800 on an Ortofon 2M Black, you would hope they have some interest in setup. WallyTools charges $500 (or more) to make a custom cartridge alignment jig for people's specific cartridge, there is a good reason for it...
hello, can anyone say me if this premounted Cartridges are also compatible with the project debut pro S ? It has the SME Headshell compatibility but is that accurate? Does anyone have experience in this Combo?
As it should be
Just follow the instructions
Ortofon cartridges. Hmm.. I started my journey as the owner of two Technics SL-1210MkIIs with the Ortofon Concorde Nightclub systems back in the 80ies. Now, I own the battleship SL-1200G. So I've come to the end of the journey with the choice of turntable. My very first system was the Ortofon Concorde Century 100. I thought a Concorde belongs on a 1200/1210. So a Hana ML system adorns the tonearm, for the moment. I'm struggling between the Audio-Technica AT-ART9XA and the van den Hul MC One Special. Ok, this is beyond what an Ortofon 2M around costs, but below that is somehow just a compromise. Perhaps a good one. Once I was allowed to listen to Ortofon Cadenza and the Ortofon Expression. That was really great cinema for my half-deaf ears. May the music be with you.
