This movie made me feel something not just happiness but love like I was somehow one of them and I feel the love. I would come home from school and watch this movie for 3 days and knowing Elio and Oliver were in love made me happy. This song is beautiful beyond words it perfectly incapsulates the beauty of this film. And the ending made me cry and if a movie can bring you to tears that means its success is inevitable. If you call me by your name I’ll call you by mine. -Oliver

Agreed. As much as I love this movie and the original novel, the sorrow and pain I feel is almost sickening and unbearable. But like Elio’s dad said, I’m going to savor these emotions as I feel because even if hurts, it’s still beautiful to experience this much pain and love for another human being.

for some reason call me by your name has such a hold on me that i rarely stop thinking about it. maybe it’s the details, maybe it’s the plot. but i think the thing that pulls me in most is how absolutely surreal you feel after seeing it for the first time. you truly feel as if you have loved and lost just as elio and oliver had. i have never been a very “deep” or intricate person but after seeing this movie i have paid more attention to tiny details and have strived to become part of the little things. no one will ever understand how much this movie means to me. it feels like a part of me is in this film.

If you've understood the movie very well, you'd be quick to notice how Marzia is always so giving and kind towards Elio, despite what wrong he did to her initially, by leading her astray, when he was still exploring his sentiments towards Oliver. But Marzia, even in the very end, indicated that she had his back, despite everything that had happened.

I remember the start of the quarantine. CMBYN reminds me of that start. This movie was and is so heartbreaking to me although my friends make fun of it. It gives such a nice memories of quarantine. I remember that after watching it, the next week was so hard, I listened to the soundtrack of that movie. I remember watching it for the 2nd time, it was less heartbreaking than the first time, but it was still hard. Then it came to the 3rd time. A few months passed from my CMBYN phase, now I'm here again, thinking if I should watch it again. This song gave me such a nostalgic feeling of that movie, it was incredible, not one movie made me feel like that. The first time I watched it, I sobbed in my bed the whole night. It was so hard to experience Elio's heartbreak. I can't wait for the sequel.

It's such a heartbreakingly beautiful song. Perfect for the film. It captures that aesthetic so well. It reminds me of the truest heartbreak I ever experienced, with a boy I met one summer that then moved away, and I visited him in England while he was at school, we went to Paris together, and by the end of the trip I knew he wasn't coming back to my city. The dream wasn't going to happen. This song captures that youthful vulnerability so well, it transports me back 10 years. I'm no longer so sad, it's just a beautiful and wistful memory. One that this powerful piece of music captures.

watching this movie makes me realize that I've never really loved anyone before and while I want to experience something as beautiful as this story at least once, I absolutely don't want to give myself to a person like they did to each other (especially elio. he LOVED that man with all his might) and it's so....scary? that some people are able to love unconditionally like this

I think that this is one of the most emotional videos of this movie, cause it brought me ALL the emotions i felt during this movie. And no matter how hard i try, i could never express what i'm feeling about this. It's so much i i'm just speechless.

Some will read this and mock or judge me, others will possibly understand me. I am listening to this song because I'm grieving. I do not know you personally but you helped me get through my own difficult times. This movie introduced me to you. And with this magnificent film came along further introductions to your dialogues which held me together during a very difficult period. Your wit, your charm and charismatic persona brought joy while I was possibly falling apart. Still, somehow I could count on these dialogues to keep me here. That's why as the world has you under scrutiny, I won't(although I do not excuse in any shape or form the aforementioned actions that apparently you were part of). If you did such things, I know that right now and for the days or years to come the guilt, the blame and the shame will pursue you. For this I am deeply saddened. You had such a beautiful future going for you. While the entire world ignored or questioned your talent, I could tell it was there, waiting for the right moment, the perfect opportunity and little by little those opportunities appeared to be finally happening for you. But your darkness won you over and for this I wish nothing more for you than kindness. While the rest of the world might be desiring the contrary, I still hope you find kindness through the rest of your path. Kindness to heal, kindness to grieve, kindness to keep on breathing,...kindness. I know right now, you need it and for now I would much rather stay with the sparse periods of light that someday where still part of you. That's all I can offer you from a distance... Kindness. This wish does not only extend to you but also to those who knew the side of you that made them stay around for many years. To the affected ones due to your shattered soul, I hope closure and healing finds their way
