Wow I had to do a simple effect of swiping a credit card through a card reader for an ad (all still photos) and I was sitting here cutting it apart in Photoshop and layering it, when I could have just used the masks. Brilliant! Thank you

Excellent tutorial, incredibly easy to follow. It's truly astonishing how quickly you can create these impressive VFX using Nodes. I can't believe I used to be apprehensive about diving into Fusion because it seemed so complex. Thanks a lot for sharing this video.

Every time I see one of your Fusion "starter" videos I pick up enough tips to feel more comfortable with the nodes environment. Is it possible to achieve the same result as in this video by dragging a Fusion Composition effect into the edit page timeline above the video clip in the vicinity of the gun > go to the Fusion page > create the elements/merge nodes > return to the Edit page > resulting in having the VFX elements in a separate clip, not baked into the original video clip? Another thought: This process would maybe have saved a life in the very tragic movie shoot trouble for Alec Baldwin in New Mexico. 😢😢 Thanks for this very helpful video! 👏👏

Hi how are? I love your tuturials! Im actually a beginner and i have a question unrelated to VFX. I dowloaded da vinci 18 for the first time, i configure my gpu to high preformance, but when i add new media it doesn't show, i can see the viseo in the media pool but it blackened. My i try to view it nothing happens, i can add it to the time line trim it or what ever but i cant see it! I tried updating my invidia gpu and aldo tried installing other version but it happens in time. Do you have any idea what can I do? Thank you!

Is it relevant to learn/use Standalone Fusion software these days, since DVR has Fusion page? I see that there's some slightly difference between the two.

This tutorial blew me away❤. One thing you could try to do better is pay more attentsion when shooting the shot. I normally use an airsoft gun to give the actor the actual feeling that they are shooting.. makes it a lot more realistic from the acting part

Question, I am fairly new to Fusion (4-5 months of everyday use) I have a new M1 Max Mac Studio with Apple display…..I film 6k raw on my BMPCC-6kPro. Playback of the footage is literally PERFECT….super happy with Resolve (PPRO/FCPX editor - 18 years) Fusion on the other hand has been giving me problems….I LOVE the workflow but playback has been REALLY choppy. I have watched literally every YT video I can find, searched BMD forums and can’t find anything to get this to play smoothly. I have tried every setting I can find. I pull the same assets into Motion 5 on a 6K canvas and get frame to frame perfect playback…..can ANYONE help?

Ok this is a good concept, but you skip a lot of vital steps.Especially in the mask part, you do a crash zoom on 4:58 with no transfrom then all of a sudden come out of the crash zoom and there is a transform there, when did you drop that down? Also I went over 4:55-5:10 about 20 times and could not get it to work. Go slower, and explaing the key parts better please.
