Thanks! This is a great help!!!! I've been binge-watching "Whole-Tone" videos on KZread and this is an excellent Lesson/Demonstration!
Nice. Dissonance adds flavor and creates interest. A call to listen.
You are seriously fucking good at teaching. Honestly you are better than most of my Uni lecturers.
Oh yeah!!!! Great phrasing Rowan!!!! Thanks!!!
Perfect lesson. Everything you could possibly want to know about it, and no fluff.
A-WHOLE tone nailed it. :) I've been tryin to figure out the concept behind this for a long time. Thanks so much for shedding some light \m/

Great job Rowan!!
This was very helpfull to me for learning to play outside. Tks very much. I sub!
Excellent, and fun too.
Excellent my friend....
Great video, very helpful
Excellent lesson
I agree with voron0sphere, I really liked the breakdown of this kind of playing and the demonstration.
I can only endorse the opinion of others here ....you are a really excellent teacher and make the essential and more advanced stuff very clear indeed. I am not proud to admit that when sifting through the multitude of teaching material now readily available I had regularly skipped your videos many times in the past, based purely on a superficial prejudice of accent and appearance (suggesting possible Big Country or rocky Iron Maiden type lessons!) but I'm really glad I came back and gave them another try.

Does it matter if you start the whole tone scale on root of one of the chords in the key? Of can you just randomly start on any note and add tension and resolve to a chord tone?
Hi rowan awesome lesson Do you have a video on dimished and augmented scale? If not can you Make one If its posible.

It's just a static vamp, Am6.
why is E7 the dominant of Am6? is it because it's the 5th degree?
@RowanJParker

That would be correct. Cheers Rowan

So if I play the whole tone scale I get sex.. finally the reason I picked up the guitar in the first place!
@RowanJParker
Жыл бұрын
Yup, it works every time. Providing you are ridiculously good-looking of course, your body needs to be wholly toned...
sounds very zappa-esque

Frank runs up a Whole-Tone Scale at the end of "Rat Tomago" from Sheik Yerbouti. The 1st Time I played a Whole-Tone Scale out of "The Guitar Handbook," I recognized it immediately and could not stop laughing!!!!
