    It doesn't happen often that someone comes up with a unique design for a melee weapon. Especially such simple, effective, and mystical. Truly captures the essence of a weapon that could be created by an order of warrior monks. I can't believe that throughout history, no one came up with the idea. Whoever designed Ulaks, was a genius.

  • @TheChaoticBeats

    @TheChaoticBeats

    7 жыл бұрын

    well they could simplify the scythe by not having it fold up. Jaune's Crocea Mors would be nice Qrows weapon? YOu have 2 build options: Sword form or Scythe form. Scythe form would be less complicated(?) then Crescent Rose. IDK, I just love some of the weapon designs they've come up with in RWBY despite how impractical they are

  • @grandadmiralthrawn92

    TheChaoticBeats If they make the scythe, they'd have to make it transform. It'd be a sin not to have it transform. I honestly can't see them attempting a weapon so complicated, and that's not even adding the sniper rifle bits to it.

    They are produced by multiple companies right now. If not mistaken Windlass, an Albion both make a copy of it. Also Frostmourne, and Gimli's axe have been produced on here and those both as well have licensed copies out on the market. Yet they were still produced.

    ***** True! Maybe since they are not selling the stuff, they fall under a some more lenient rule of fan work or something. Would definitely enjoy them making those. Especially the Atlantean is quite complex if it's supposed to work as a real sword and not just a wall hanger.

    Corvo Attano the issue with that sword is that its blade is not a single piece. If you know anything about swords, you should know that if they aren't a single piece, they have pretty much zero structural integrity; the joining point is a key weak point, it will take all the stress of a strike, and it will break in a single strike. So with that sword, they have two choices, neither of which are acceptable: one, make the sword as it is in the game, which would have them make a non-functional wallhangar (something that goes against the entire principle of the show), or two, make it without it splitting into two. This is no good, because that's pretty much the swords's only distinguishing feature. If they did that, they would just be making a generic sword.

  • @SpearM3064

    @SpearM3064

    7 жыл бұрын

    As @theminerofskulls said: If they made that blade as it appears in the game, they wouldn't even be able to do a demo of it. It would break at the joining point of the two pieces on the first strike. Basically, it'd be something like this: "Here's our demo." ::Hangs it on the wall:: "Looks good, doesn't it? Tune in for our next episode where we make an actual blade that won't break when you try to use it."

    Yep, if you are adept at fist fighting and learn some proper techniques, Ulaks can be really good in CQC. Only real downside is the reach, but then again, if you are comfortable with getting up close and personal, these blades are pretty much specifically made for that. Also very good for catching your opponents blade swings with those serrations.

    This build is great. I've always liked functionality in fantasy blades and the ulaks are definitely a very useable and versatile weapon. The simplicity and elegance of the blades is beautiful. I've wanted a set of those blades for a long time, and to see someone do it right is spectacular.
