Paul Walker's character is the one ingredient that made the series so good. I miss seeing these moments when Brian would be in a situation and it genuinely felt like he was in danger. He was the human element that grounded the series from becoming too stale. And now he's gone.

The fact that the character who is half of the title is gone made the following sequels miss something. Paul was the "Fast" character, Vin is the "Furious". Without the other, the sequels feel lacking.

The goodbye scene to Paul Walker was the most emotional I've ever seen a packed theater get. You could literally hear everyone sniffling/crying. That shit hit so hard...
for all that these movies are ridiculous and nonsensical and stupid, i genuinely think that is one of the most perfect, tasteful, loving, and respectful "in honor of" segments in a movie i've ever seen for an actor that passed away during or shortly after filming. to this day, i have not seen a better one.

It’s not the same, but to me the movies still work without him. The movies really are about the ensemble, so by missing one, the rest can pick up the slack. What I do miss is his dynamic with Dom. With Dom being stoic, Brian was the one who had the genuine reactions to the dumb shit happening; almost like he grounded it in a way. I definitely agree with him missing, you miss that connective tissue in that he’s the one guy who legit bridges these friendships: he knows Dom, but he also is the one who has history with Roman & Tej. The latter two would never have been brought into the fold, if not for Brian. I missed him in F8 a lot…. But tbh in F9, I felt the void wasn’t as large, since they brought back characters like Mia and Han.

The dedication to Paul at the end was done so perfectly and it will always make me cry. I love how the beach scene was basically all the actors talking about Paul and breaking the 4th wall. And then ofcourse Dom and Brian driving together with them parting ways and Brian driving into the sunset representing him passing away.
Fun Fact: There is a delete scene in where Letty has a flashback of being brought to the hospital by Giselle(Gal Gadot).

They only filmed maybe 30/40% of the movie when PW passed. The ending and epilogue were made after.
This shit still hurts bro. Paul walker was the main draw of these movies to me. You can tell he gave his all in these performances. The additional movies feel so strange without him there. He was such a dope actor. Doesn’t have to be for a reaction, but you should definitely check out running scared. His performance in that is excellent.
You have no any idea how many times i cried. God i miss him so much legends never die
I think they did consider cancelling the movie but then they decided to finish it off for Paul and give Brian at least a proper send off. Im impressed with James Wan and Vin pulling it off.

That ending was sad and depressing but also very beautiful and fulfilling. Such a complex ending.
Such a great reaction. Such a heartbreaking movie. I wasn’t able to watch the other films without Paul in it. Also to add only 50% of Paul’s scenes where filmed. He passed during a critical time in the film process sadly. Also Charlie Puth co-wrote that famous song, I believe the melody and lyrics are his, inspired by a friend he too lost in an accident.
This movie had everything going up against it and James Wan still somehow managed to pull off a coherent film with all the ridiculousness yet still pay such a beautiful tribute to Paul Walker at the end. And kudos to Universal for how they handled not only this production but also the marketing of the film. Those last few scenes from the beach to the last race are just so incredibly heartfelt because it transcends fiction, those moments are an entire cast saying goodbye to someone they loved in real life because he wasn’t there anymore to film with them and they are keeping his memory alive. I saw this film at one of the special early screenings Universal hosted and Vin Diesel made an appearance at my screening to thank the fans for continuing to support the Fast Family after everything that's happened, and it was so amazing of him to come too given he came straight from the hospital where his baby daughter had just been born, a baby daughter that he named Pauline after Paul Walker. There was such a love between this cast over the decades and I'm so glad they were able to finish this film and honor him the way they wanted to. Every viewing of this movie I went to had people in tears, it’s sometimes hard to believe that a Fast and Furious movie had one of the most emotional and tastefully done tribute to a lost cast member. And also Paul’s brothers Cody and Caleb, as well as actor John Brotherton all doubled for Paul in various scenes and they did such a great job. It warms my heart as well that Paul’s daughter Meadow is close to this cast and often has photos with Vin Diesel’s kids.
paul was my favorite actor ever and I was pretty young when he died but I still knew what happened and most of the year made me so depressed and for awhile didn't believe it was real for like 2 years, not just me will miss you Paul, please rest easy😞😥
I was in middle school when this movie came out and it was the first movie I seen in theaters that made me cry. I cried so hard when I heard he died and I say this every time at the end when they are driving off together, I see this not only as Dom saying bye to Brian but Vin seeing Paul for one last time.
Oh man I can't wait for #8!! My favorite 😍 FAMILY x100, the coolest fight/chase EVER (the prison) and Statham is so fabulously extra I can't even deal, I feel like he was basically his character from Spy in #8.
1:43 - 1:57 Paul actually filmed around 60 to 70 percent before he died, so he was in damn near most of this movie. His brothers/stunt double as well as another actor did the other 30% and they was in several scenes in the movie but you couldn’t tell the CGI was that obvious ‘cause they did the editing too well. Like for example, when Paul opens the car door in the vault scene at Abu Dhabi, his brother Caleb enters the car playing Brian. Before Dom crashes the car into 3 buildings and Brian says “Dom, cars don’t fly!” and “Shit!” and the car crashes into 3 buildings that was Caleb in that whole part of the scene.
This is an old video but it's actually kind of impressive how well they convinced people that Paul Walker did most of the movie -- I would estimate that close to 65% of Walker's character in the movie had to be done after his death. The scene of him pulling up to the school, the funeral, the scenes of him in Nobody's compound, the scene of him in the vault with the rich guy's car in Abu Dhabi and some of the scenes after, the scene of him talking to Mia on the phone in Los Angeles, and the part right before the epilogue where Dom is unconscious are essentially the only parts of Furious 7 that Paul shot before he passed. The scene of him in the garage in DR listening to police scanners and the conversation he and Dom have on the airplane, and brief scenes of him on the beach in Abu Dhabi are repurposed from Furious 6 and Fast Five. The explosion at the house, the entirety of Abu Dhabi before the vault scene and the part after where they're jumping the towers, and the ending parts where Nobody is being choppered away, and the ENTIRETY of the Los Angeles finale outside of that phone call to Mia and unconscious Dom are all Walker's brothers, as well as, of course, the emotional finale.
@jkingvevo2472

“The entirety of Abu Dhabi before the vault scene” if you talkin’ about the party scene that actually was Paul. I thought it was CGI too but there’s BTS pics of Paul in that scene. Now it’s possible some shots in that same scene could’ve been CGI like when Lil Jon is played in the beginning of the Abu Dhabi party and the gang walks down the stairwell, that was Paul’s brother. But you missed a few parts Paul did: * Ramsey and the gang by the lake after the bus scene * Brian gettin’ out the car with Tej and Roman lookin’ up at the sky and runnin’ after Dom crashes in the 3rd act * the whole plane drop/bus scene before the bus hangs off the cliff * Brian layin’ on the ground after Letty drives him back on the cliff and he say “thank you” lol * Brian sayin' to Dom "I told you you'd say that. I know you too well Dom and I'm goin' with you." before the Shaw factory shootout scene * Brian, Tej, and Letty runnin’ up to Dom after him and Ramsey crashes off the cliff and Brian says, “Well that’s one way down a mountain. Where’s Ramsey?” * Brian sayin’ to Shaw “I hope you enjoying your last meal” before the factory shootout * a decent portion of the factory shootout scene (some shots looked CGI 🤔) All those parts were real Paul as well. The airplane conversation scene with Dom and the Abu Dhabi desert scene was shot with CGI as a Fast 5 reference.
RIP PAUL

Paul did that movie around April 2013. By the time he died it was already finished. F7 was actually his last movie he ever did, knowin’ he did 2 months of filming (early September to late November 2013) before the crash happened on his Thanksgiving break from the F7 filming.
The ending is a beautiful tribute to Paul walker
The phone call between Brian and Mia hurts so much when you consider that Paul Walker filmed the scene before he passed away, but Jordana Brewster filmed her portion after Paul Walker's passing. So her emotions and her desperation is all real. I start crying there and pretty much don't fully stop. Then the end hits and I'm done for.

Fast and Furious 8 and 9 are incomplete without Paul Walker.
If you have not seen it, you should react Ford v Ferrari. Much more than just a racing film. Also, directed by James Mangold, who directed and wrote Logan and the future Indiana Jones 5. Also stars Christian Bale and Matt Damon. Also this has the strongest friendship that I have ever seen between two lead characters in a film. To me the best film of 2019.
I'm a grown-ass man and I SOBBED like a little bitch at the end. At the end of each movie at the theater, car enthusiasts always roared out of the parking lot in their cars. But this one?
