/* ---- VIDEO INFORMATION ---- */
Welcome to the heavy spoilers show, I'm your host Paul and this video we're breaking down Furiosa.
-
It's Furiosa not Furiosssaaaa and there's a lot to unpack. Throughout this review we're gonna be going through the movie, ending, some of the mad max easter eggs and our general thoughts on it.
We will get into it in just a bit but firstly just a quick word from our sponsors and then we'll go over the films ending.
(FACTOR AD)
Now the movie basically centres around Dr Dementus going against Immortan Joe and his allies. First introduced during Fury Road these include several faces that you might recognise. Those are the bullet farmer from Bullet Town and the people Eater who eventually takes over Gas Town.
Anyway Dementus is desperately trying to gain control of Joes citadel which eventually will be taken by Furiosa down the line. We've actually done a big breakdown on Fury Road including all the easter eggs and there we talked about Immortan Joes background. Explored during a prequel comic we discovered that he took the Citadel with his forces. this in itself was a bloody battle in which Joe miraculously came out unscathed. There he was deemed Immortal hence his nickname Immortan Joe.
We also have his sons Scrotus and Rictus with the the former being the villain in the mad max game.

The first shot is her picking that peach and the close to* last shot is her giving the new tree's first peach to the wives. Thought that was beautiful and metaphorical

One of the CGI tricks you seemed to have missed is they used computers to blend the face of the little girl with ATJ’s face. At the beginning the character was 70% girl and 30% ATJ. Throughout the film the “dial” was turned until at the end the character had grown so that 70% was now ATJ and only 30% of the girls face was left.

My wife and I absolutely loved Furiosa , as massive fans of Fury road this movie fleshed out fury road so much , we actually came home from the movie and watched fury road after and it was awesome , reminded me of watching rogue one prior to episode 4. I think the more complexity of the movie probably made it a lot harder to maintain such a crazy limited CG use like in Fury road , one movie was 99% stunts on a road while the other had so much more story , more big sets and locations to actually create and that can’t be easy out in the desert while also making a ton of functional cars stunt teams etc, I wasn’t put off by the CG I think it looked fine , wasn’t jarring it was clear they worked with that they had to work with it’s not like fury road was a huge money win.

My favorite part of the story is the fact that Furiosa just nonchalantly escapes each anarchy within every chapter. She knew that she was in control of her destiny. So, she had no worries as she learned and grew. Though the film is about her, she didn't need plot armor to survive each challenge. Furiosa just had a natural instinct to overcome obstacles, and this theme is refreshing to the franchise.

@@ruffryder1208 Okay. It's a prequel. So, that means that this LATEST installment does not occur chronologically. There is no "next film." With that said, this installment is meant to explain why Furiosa does not need plot armor in the Mad Max storyline since Mad Max is the main character in this universe and would have plot armor because of that fact... Hence the subtitle "A Mad Max Saga."

@@ruffryder1208 Let's try this one more time... We already know that Furiosa is in Mad Max Fury Road. Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga is a prequel that serves as an origin story. We also already know that Furiosa survives Fury Road at the end. Now we know why she was so skilled in Fury Road. Therefore, she does not need plot armor if the creators plan to include her in an installment AFTER Fury Road. Plot armor is a device that writers use to protect characters from OUTSIDE the universe through deus ex machina. That's my point. She doesn't need a deus ex machina.

I just watched this movie, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. The film is packed with exhilarating action sequences that are exceptionally well choreographed. From start to finish, the action is relentless and keeps you on the edge of your seat. What really stood out for me was the solid story that perfectly complements the high-octane action. Also the movie has amazing visuals. The plot is engaging and well-developed, providing a strong foundation for the impressive visuals and stunts. In comparison to the last installment, this movie is a significant improvement in every aspect. The narrative is tighter, the characters are more fleshed out, and the action scenes are more spectacular. Overall, I believe this is one of the best movies to come out this year, right up there with Dune 2. If you're a fan of action-packed films with a compelling story, this is a must-watch!

It is possible he dragged her (someone DID and is not shown), but considering other films, he would have carried her, not dragged her, and certainly would not have left her in the maggot farm hole she ended up in. Instead, it is a weak Easter egg for Max fans, pointless to the plot.

Best movie in the franchise imo. Great prequel to the very linear Fury Road. Wow. There was a time where it felt a bit long and the Furiosa's vengeance at the end felt a bit flat or off but it was good. Like how did she get back to the Citadel with or without him? No one was driving more than a mile without being swarmed by raiders. 😅😅 9/10 movie though. Looked great.

just saw Furiosa yesterday and I feel bad saying it felt like a real miss to me after the grounded, tight story and epic presentation on all facets that was Fury Road. All the green screens , all the computer animated war boys in wide shots, all the talking - I just never felt gripped and engaged. as a hypothetical example, what's more exciting to see on film - a CGi tank with five flamethrower turrets that spins around and shoots CGI fire everywhere, or a guy on the back of a real car shooting one real plume of fire into another real stunt car? that said , that's just me- if Furiosa was a good show for where you're coming from, I'm glad love your work Paul , love the channel.

The film starts 15 years before FR as revealed by Furiosa when she corners Dementus. The epilogue thus happens 4 years later due to the 7000 night away from home sentence in FR making her in her early 30s then.

She was already one of the crew who built the war rig. Easy to explain. It's not like they do rollcall and sound the alarm when a mechanic isn't at their station. She could just say her boss told her to come on the mission. He died, so there's no way for them to know any better.

The Storyman gives her priceless advice as a kid, make yourself irreplaceable I think was the line. Do that and Dementus will take care of you. She understands that doesn’t just apply to Dementus but all warlords. Immortan Joe doesn’t have time to care how the sausage is made. Jack and Furiosa are the best at the job and that’s what he cares about.

Ditto! This was a huge plothole to me. They could've brought it up in a really brief conversation somehow and not just left a gaping hole. I also found it unbelievable that she's the only woman among all these men, even sleeping beside them, and she never had to fight off unsolicited advances. Hugely unrealistic. Am I missing something? This is the first MM movie I've seen.

That was from the Storyman’s advice about being useful to warlords.

So I just rewatched Fury Road, at the begining you see max, he eats a lizzard and says here they come, so he is being chased. I always wondered why he was being chased. Would this be because he saved Furiosa when she was walking in the desert near him and he saw her struggling? My assumption of this is he took her to the citadel which is made obvious, but got spotted in doing so, hence why he was being chased at the begining of Fury Road. Does this make sense?

She still had the elbow joint, which means she could bend the prosthetic like a real arm. The "fingers" are controlled by wires strapped to the bicep and "forearm", levers and pulleys and counterweights. You'll notice the "thumb" is in a fixed position, the two "fingers" only move from the top. Liked how it had a concealed rotary cutter installed on it. Nice detail.

The music is used as more of a sound effect than a soundtrack here. Think about the War Rig chase with the rogue paratroop raiders. The drums just rise and rise and rise until the crescendo of the scene where everything is deafening mayhem and it all merges perfectly.
