I have a quick question since I haven't played the archon quest and haven't watched all the dialogue so does furina still act as the hydro archon or does she step down and become a normal girl

Huh wow, how come I didn't noticed that at first when I played it..? Good catch there! At least this still assured me that the Traveler still understood with Furina's feelings since he was the one who witnessed her 500 year play from Fontaine Act V.

Traveller really is a very helpful friend. Every where he/she goes, everyone are always trusts them and making everyone enjoy staying with them as if as they have a really positive energy around them.

I didn't like how the quest started at first with the way the Traveler and Paimon guilt-tripping Furina into helping, but this scene is probably the best part of the whole quest. It brought tears to my eyes and joy to my heart to finally see Furina being able to open up and talk about her pain and suffering without worrying about any consequences anymore. She's finally free to speak her heart and free of the burden put onto her for 500 years. The music accompaniment really helped sell this scene as well. I wouldn't mind it if this moment went on a little longer, just us and Furina sitting there chatting away to ease up all the built up tension.

Although Ei said that she succeeded Makato after her death, she still continued to live as a shadow. Just like Furina, Ei was pretending to be someone else. Therefore, if a scene where the two come together is written well, it can make for a very good story.

Even Furina questioned Paimon's sudden rudeness lol

Is Furina the first character who is technically completely free to travel with the Traveler? Not held back by a job or obligations.

Agree the strength of holding it in isolated and loneliness for 500 years, even til the end in her most important moment when traveler offer to listen to her problem she could share all her pain and sorrow that moment but she choose not to that how selfless she is. If she not an archon of fontaine she a heroine of fontaine. Bet even til now she hasn't notice how important she is to fontaine

part of it is culture, modern or ancient. you have to remember that at its core, Genshin Impact still is a chinese game, made by primarily chinese people who grew up in a mostly chinese culture. and PDA, even among couples is extremely highly frowned upon. and such skinship moreso among friends and even moreso as friends. That's problematic. Is it such a problem for a western mindset? the skinship i mean. most probably not, but in large swathes of Asia, skinship, PDA or any form of contact between males and females are to be reserved as private moments, behind closed doors. you have to remember that in Asia, where many still follow a traditional mindset (thankfully) the actions of males and females toward each other hold much more weight.

Seeinng Furina free from her weight as an Archon is very warming

I hope that after that people won't be so hard on Furina. She put up the act to deceive all of Fontaine and even us and now she is free to act herself. That took a lot of time to keep it up.

What an incredible character development she had, almost everyone in the genshin community no longer feels what they used to feel at first with furina when she was bratty and irritating and now she's such an endearing character, still keeping some sass but cuteness at the same time

I’m seeing a pattern here… both Furina and Aether sitting on a *ship*

This is literally like seeing Rise Kujikawa in Persona 4 being able to find her true self

This felt like when you reach rank 10 with someone in a Persona game.

one day back in like 4.0 or 4.1, i was talking to a friend of mine about Furina with all the theories and headcanons that i had, one of which was how i wish she'd no longer be burdened by the title of archon and bexome free to live her life as like any other human, maybe see more of the world outside of fontaine because of her whole life being in the opera for so long. but to think it would actually come true in a way. in the end she got a job as a consultant but i am incredibly happy for her. ive said it before and i'll say it again. I love Furina, not the hydro archon nor Focalor, but Furina, and thst was my main motivation to pull for her. ive probably failed getting c2 for this banner but im aiming for it on her rerun banner.

3:32 Paimon, you should really refine your social skills. Furina is pouring her heart there (I would like to remind that it is likely her first time doing it). Maybe listen more instead talk? It's not easy playing a role that you eventually detest for 500 years straight, being a slave to the fleeting opinions of the public, and you can't confide to anyone because of a prophecy that would ruin everyone in your nation. Mihoyo should allow the Travelers to talk and maybe I can tolerate playing Genshin. And you people are wondering why people suffering from depression and other mental illnesses prefer to bottle those negative feelings alone until it goes BOOM!

Furina describes what her 500 year eternal performance was like for her to where in her words tore her apart to where only protecting the truth was all she had left in her. A duty turned into a nightmarish burden where the thought of failing that one duty would mean true isolation. That extended to where she couldn't even tell Neuvillette as she would risk disaster otherwise. Being freed from her role as the Hydro Archon afforded her to be able to speak her heart out after all those years.

That is a borderline cruel remark indeed... well, if it comforts you a bit, Paimon knows far less about Furina than does the traveller (I mean even the traveller only got a peek at Furina's inner world during the archon quest, I don't think anyone besides herself knows her five hundred years of suffering). Even the main cast of Fontaine mostly view her as someone who gave up her powers for some unclear reason.

To be fair I wanted to punch time on this entire Story Quest. From completely ignoring Furina boundary I'm still insisting Farina does it as an exception. To then despite probably being unintentional proceeding to Guilt Trip Furina. After not only knowing how she suffered because of acting for 500 years but then was then told again by her Furina herself. Then when Furina is finally being open and after what she went through the act of that must be pretty anxiety inducing to make a callus comment like that.

Is interesting how Mihoyo baited us so hard. If we think about it, we never pulled for the 5th archon because it never existed to begin with. But all is forgiven given the past of Furina. And damn, I dont care if Fontaine doesn't have an archon anymore. If you're talking about ei first story quest I 100% agree with you when it comes to her second. The kind of hit two different directions for me to say it's a better version. I still prefer Furina's story Quest but as I said above they both have different so I can't really say they are better or weaker versions than the other

Non delusional people knew this was just fanservice specially the part she calls him " closest to a friend" i mean all of our approach to her was an antagonistic approach we barely talk heck we didn't even visit her after the aq but we checked everyone to see if their ok except her? what the fandom did to ayaka’s character is terrible.

When Furina said that Traveller and Paimon were the closest friends she had.... It felt forced. Because believe it or not, they were being insensitive to her feelings the entire timeit felt so awful. Forget Paimon, but I expected better from the Traveller because he/she is usually so observant around people that they suddenly lacked such element in her story quest.

Traveller was more observant and said what she needed to hear and listened to her. Did you not pay attention to Poisson? Paimon was the insensitive one

@@Blue-Code in that then yeah I will agree the traveler was a bit disingenuous about asking Furina to do a play, but after that he stopped when she said no and supported and comforted her throughout the quest. He didn’t really beg or force her tbh, and he was still observant. Paimon though was trying to force her along with saying other crap. She really needed to stop talking most of the time.

I still can’t stand the Traveler and Paimon’s insistent pushing Furina to forcibly tell them about her plan regarding the prophecy. Wouldn’t something as simple as “I can’t tell you, so please be patient” not enough to not let the damn traveling duo meddle and possibly wasting Furina’s 500 year efforts? Goddamn Hoyo, you fuckers are just running out of good ideas now ain’tcha?

It's literally hundreds of years in the eyes of Fontanians and they are no closer to averting disaster as day one. Poisson was just destroyed with multiple casualties and there's little to no time left before another catastrophe occurs and yet Furina is still silent. Neuvilllette and the Traveler are desperate for answers and Furina doesn't seem to want to discuss anything, what choice do they have than to pressure Furina? But it's so easy to say things like "be patient and trust her" when you have all the knowledge right? This is laughable.
