Carpenter Brut is NOT the composer of The Song's boss theme (boss 6)! That would be Toxic Avenger, with the song name being the same as the walking segment just before it - "Make This Right"

yup the dead give away for me was the bunny head guy. how he floats around like giving commentary like the guy from afro samurai. plus the giant bunny head and the giat teddy bear hear.

Hardest bosses are the third (time guy) and the sniper chick (her bullet-time phase is HARD). Also I thought the english dub's where better imo, rabbit dude and **MILD SPOILERS** samurai dude at the end are fantastic in their voices. If you're having a hard time at the beginning dw it will get easier. You get the hang of the game/fights and, in my opinion bosses 3 and 4 are the hardest. Squid dudes bullet time is hard af too.

theres no lag the dash is executed once you release the button not when you first press it

"Forces you learn a set of moves."

This is a truly fantastic game. First play through was tough but fun. It took me about 5 hours. Second play through took just under 2 hours. My 3rd was the speed run and I finished in under 1 hour. It really is all about practice, patience, and pattern recognition. If you feel like giving up just take a break and try again, you will do better. Hard mode will kick your ass though. I'm serious, it's brutal.

One of the best games of all time, you gain no powers or skills, you just get better, the speedrun mode is awesome to, the music is on point and the artstyle is top notch

I completed each boss on S rank, in both difficulties and i can tell that its always fair, if you study the bosses long enough you can dodge each and every attack

By the end of your review, you made the point. What seemed to be so frustrating during your 1st "bossthrough", was actually just great. Coming back as a killer in such a game after having defeated all the bosses is just so fun. And the 1st time, it only takes a few attempts by boss for each thus just a bit more of knowledge and skills needed for each. Not a "die-1OO times-and- retry" kind like some niche games can be...

Plat'ed the game a few days ago really fun

im stuck fighting the mothership i got used to move fast and this fight is pretty slow with a very punishable boss

now this is way better then IGN's review, respect the games you review IGN

I hope the developer is seeing this, this game is something we really wanted, I miss when you have to face tough bosses and get the satisfaction from beating them, now most games are easy and don't offer any boss fights, thank you for making this game and the soundtrack is amazing

Man this game is so much fun. The Edge was such a great boss fight. When this video ends I'm gonna go play it again.

After playing a large portion of the game, I started thinking that these characters looks an awful lot like they were pulled from Afro Samurai.. The story almost seems relatable too. After doing a bit more research, I then realized that it is in fact, the same designer.. No wonder these designs all have weird heads.. I love it.

you guys really need to make the score more noticeable. I can't count the number of times I miss the score because it's so discreet when it shows up.

It's a challenging game, indeed. I just started up my 2nd playthrough on Furier (hard) mode and have beaten the first two bosses so far. It's all about pattern recognition and staying between the lines... er bullets. And reflexes. Best free game I've ever gotten from PSN so far!

"The journey to become a better fighter" ...that sounds about right :)

Imo this game is a 10/10 brilliant art style fluid combat and a weirdly compelling story some bosses after watching the cut scenes you did not want to kill and I disagree that the scenery is to much I feel as it is just right and really compliments the game and develops a great story I really hope more games like this release and are as polished as this one. Furi is a masterpiece

It looks so much like the _Afro Samurai_ game to me Even has the Gino lookalike.

The parry window isn't inconsistent, the attack speed of the boss is. Most people realize this. None of the reviewers have it seems.

this game is amazing for hard fights that seem impossible the game punishes you but you learn through it making every difficult situation simple through hard effort and its great for that its so amazing really hope to see more games done by the developer and games looking nice like this... for some reason it reminds me of rwby didnt see any of the ep expect first 3 so idk but the game looks so gorgeous and lovely the plot was great but how unfortunate for the games ending knowing all you did could had been avoided earlyer and STILL SO MUCH NOT LEFT UNANSWERED

This game is awesome. I rated 9/10 because is get repetitive in the last bosses. Is the challenge of killing hard bosses that keep it interesting. I Love the art, Afro samurai was awesome

loving the game so far. only just beat the big daddy guy so not far in. thanks ps plus as I probably would never of given this game a chance otherwise.

Im so glad this game has a easy mode.

This the action and gameplay that Afro Samurai game should have had, minus being able to shoot.

The art style is right lush. And it looks like so much fun. But no thanks, I lack the concentration to master it.

It would be nice if there was more than one counter attack animation. That must get stale before even finishing one boss fight.

I believe perfect parries only happen if you parry on the last possible frame. Dosen't happen often unless you're really good.

They definitely can, it's my ONLY gripe about the game. Having a few different animations, maybe a few for coming in at different angles would have really topped it off for me. Fuckin amazing game either way.

Pretty much all Jrpg's have been turned into some form of this now albiet much easier. It's much more simple to understand, and the western audience isn't getting any smarter. That's why most western rpg's are very lax on math, stats, focused narrative, anything that might require an attention span, or problem solving beyond find key to open door.

Kos Mos Yea i guess so...i dont know why people are focused sooo much on the story,visuals, how cinematic it looks....im fine with games like The Last of Us and such...but lets be real, those games are walking, talking, walking, and then a gun fight that lasts 3 min, and thats okay, but i want to see more games with stylish action with 1000 of combos, where you have to have skill to beat an enemy/Boss, where gameplay is the main selling point... Sadly many off those games dont get their much deserved recognition.

i found out it just means your controllers trigger cant be 100% pressed down which in this game u have to be able to...usually controllers that have been very overuse might not work i just used another controller
