I am very much impressed how beautyful you interprete. There is so much beauty in your style, so calm. The moving of your hands, everything looks so easy, and I know, it is not! 😅

Love the sound from the Steinway. I have a Yamaha C3…it just doesn’t sound the same, especially on the lower end.

Fur Elise is a difficult piece to play because its is not very forgiving! If you play it too loud or too fast or even a bit too unevenly, the piece immediately sounds wrong. The fist theme repeats and repeats and the melodies which come later have a special meaning of their own which might have an effect on how the pianist should play the refrain of that first theme. That main theme sounds like perpetual motion with its Tah-Dah-Tah-Dah-Tah-Dah. If you do not play each repetition of this theme with some relieving variation, it can be very boring. But if you play that theme with appropriate variations as it repeats, you still have to play it with a spontaneity and naturalness without elaborating or introducing modifications of the phrasing which demands a cohesive legato with just the right amount of rubato. The moment you try to dress up the melody or schmaltz it up just a tad too much, your playing will sound mannered and artificial. But Christie plays it so well because she instinctively senses the correct ways to play this piece right. She introduces a beautiful, soft, soothing tone, cohesive fluency and smooth execution of the broad line of the melody, never falling into eccentric detail. Her flow is lovely. Bravo, Christy!
