이 영상의 비하인드 스토리 (TMI 주의) 2005년 8월, 펀투는 인터넷에서 JerryC 의 Canon Rock 영상을 보고 뽐뿌를 느낌 - “이 곡 연주해보고 싶다!” 2005년 10월, 오후 늦게 일어나 연주 영상을 찍음. 뻗힌 머리를 숨기기 위해 모자 착용. Mule 이라는 한국 사이트에 올렸으나 몇달후 전세계 곳곳으로 영상이 퍼짐. 2005년 12월, 당시 유튜브의 guitar90 라는 익명계정이 guitar 라는 제목으로 해당 영상을 업로드함. (아직도 업로더가 누구인지 모름) (펀투는 이 사람이 영상을 훔쳤다고 생각치 않음. 초창기 인터넷 영상 문화는 희미한 저작권 개념으로 아무나 퍼나르는 분위기였음.) 2006년 guitar 영상은 유튜브 전체 조회수 2위를 기록 유튜브 태동에 관해 취재하던 뉴욕타임즈 기자 Virginia Heffernan이 펀투의 정체를 수소문하기 시작함. 미국에 살던 초등학생이 자신이 펀투라고 사칭하는 사건이 발생. 이 초딩이 뉴욕타임즈 기자 블로그에 펀투로 소개됨. (펀투는 이 초딩에게 악감정 전혀 없음. 살다보면 실수할수도 있지뭐-) 진실을 알고있던 몇몇 팬들의 항의와 제보로 펀투가 뉴욕타임즈 기자와 연결되고, 2006년 8월, 뉴욕타임즈 지면에 펀투와 guitar 영상이 보도됨. 기사 제목 “Web Guitar Wizard Revealed at Last” 2007년 펀투는 1년간 속세를 떠나 세계여행을 하고 돌아와 2008년 자신의 채널에 해당 영상을 업로드함. (바로 이 곳) 2021년 현재 ‘guitar’ 영상은 약 9400만회 조회수 기록 중 더 많은 이야기거리가 있으나 TMI는 여기까지 하겠습니다. 🙌

@@totoistk 그렇군요. 낙원 삘딍에 친척이 사시기에 6층 놀이터의 지금은 사라진 교각 위에서 놀곤 했는데 2층, 3층은 단 한 번도 가본 적이 없어서 몰랐네요.

This video feels like a time capsule of the Mid-to-Late 2000's, from the Mouse on the desk, to the not-so-great dynamic range to even just the spindle of CDs in the background, it all feels like I just time traveled to a time on the internet where *everyone* was on FaceBook and MySpace, KZread was still in its infancy, and where anything seemed possible with computers. The original KZread video is called "guitar" uploaded by a user named guitar90 and was in the top 10 most viewed videos of all time at the end of 2007. It was deleted in 2011 but has since been restored. It now has over 92 million views

I remember back when I was a freshman in high school at the age of 14 watching this and here I am at the age of 29 watching this again finding myself just as amazed now as I was then by this dude's skills with a guitar. Still probably the best electric guitar/rock cover of any song on KZread.

This was re-uploaded. Original video is around 18 years old. I believe he deleted it and then uploaded it again since there’s another channel with the video that’s older.

He shamelessly stole the video from a Korean guitar site where "Funtwo", the nickname of the person playing, posted the video to get feedback from other guitar players. If you look up "Funtwo" on KZread, you can find his channel where he has been posting some new songs, and also new versions of this song, the good old Canon Rock!

TheResock Dude what? Have you ever even heard power metal? It totally sounds like power metal - most power metal guitarists such as Malmsten get the vast majority of their influence from classical music.

15 years and still freshh, here in the philippines, we usually play this song in the computer shop using the classic speakers. While playing dota1, ragnarok, gounbound and other online games. And now. Still listening to this. Bringing back the old times.

Still gives me goosebumps almost 20 years later.

그냥 제리 씨 99프로 똑같이 커버한거에 태핑 쪼금 넣는 수준인데? 삑사리가 좀 많지만 레코딩 차이로 소리는 좀 더 깔끔하게 들림. 완성이란 단어를 쓰기엔 좀 ㅋㅋ애초에 이렇게 편곡한 제리 씨가 더 대단함.

So nice to find this video again, I loved it 15 years ago and I love it today. It really epitomizes what youtube is all about, just some dude in his room, face covered by a baseball cap, and he makes a video that has been viewed probably a billion times in total. Amazing!

2006년에 이 곡을 우연히 듣고 다운받아서 mp4에 넣어 자주 듣던 노래 타국에서 공부하다 혼자 낯선곳으로 여행갈때 귀에 꼽고 열심히 들었던 노래 내 인생에 가장 찬란했던 시기에 나와 함께해준 이 음악이 이렇게 유튜브에 그 주인장의 채널에서 다시 들으니 40대의 세 아이의 아버지는 예전 그때가 떠올라 뭉클하네요.

I still remember how I felt when I watched this video for the first time when I was just a kid, the faceless hero, the golden guitar and the shiny aura (because of the low video quality plus tons of sunlight coming from the window lmao), playing one of the most legendary pieces of music for guitar players on the internet. I remember being mesmerized by the first seconds of the song, I had absolutely no idea how to reproduce the first notes, for me it was just magic, then it goes into the sickest riffs I've ever heard at the time. This video was a turning point in my life, sadly I don't play the guitar anymore, but I miss it so much and everytime I come back to this video I get an urge to go back to playing it.

Without you i would've found this song back in the days of just searching "guitar", 15 years later still my favorite guitar video!
