The "Take Your Poo to the Loo" advert was a public service announcement from India. I saw it on the news years ago, i guess the plumbing situation was bad in big cities, so people would poo in the streets instead of finding a restroom.

That last one was definitely spliced together. Pretty sure that scene with the guy shooting into the car was from CSI or Criminal Minds.

The trunk monkey series was great. Worth checking them out.

Only that first racist commercial was Chinese, the toothpaste is from Thailand. But yeah, even my Asian friends will say that Asians are extremely racist because most of their countries are so ethnically homogenous.

@@SE-gs6gd I don't think op said this as a means of justifying their racism. He's just describing the reality of a situation and providing a logical explanation as to why it likely is the reality. Their racism can be condemned while simultaneously acknowledging the conditions which have likely led to their racist sentiments, regardless of whether holding such sentiments is a choice. Every choice we make is based solely on the information readily available to us at a given time - if that information is limited or skewed in some way, our choices will inevitably follow suit and appear "illogical" to those who make their decisions based on more complete and/or better information.

@@beingandtime honestly if you judge people as individuals and not based on what you see in media that wouldn't really be a problem. Ive been to lots of places in the world but there are many places I've never been but I dont automatically hold a bias against someone just because I've never interacted with them. Sorry but thats just a character flaw in my mind.

@@beingandtime Exactly. Plus, human beings are tribal by nature. Many Asians are racist towards other Asians because they feel like there is a hierarchy with Japan/China/South Korea being superior. A lot of that has to do with economy, global cultural influence, and military strength as well. The concept that only white people are racist is so ignorant. People need to get out of their bubble and meet a variety of people. I suppose it's easier for me having lived my whole life in NY where you literally can't escape diversity.

A friend of mine was an advertising copywriter . He said most of them burn out within 5 years or so because by then they have sold all of the original ideas they had .

I haven’t seen commercials in a decade it feels like. Also, my mama took us in the bathroom for a quick whoopin if we acted up on top of punishment at home. Maybe a bit extreme but discipline at a young age is necessary and we tended to behave.

I remember seeing most of the American ones on TV, like the Trunk monkey and the Sprite commercial. That State Farm ad at the end I never saw that one before. I have a feeling it was not on to long here.

The insurance ad at the end was edited. The channel it came from is called 1st ADmendment and he makes lots of those kinds of videos as parodies.

The laundry ad was a copy in reverse of an Italian ad (?) where an Italian guy become black.

Ok, at about 13.00 in the video - the one for Confederate Family Life is not real. It was created for a film called CSA: The Confederate States of America, which speculated on how life in the US would be different if the southern (confederate) states had won the Civil War. And yeah - the Flintstones cartoons were originally sponsored by Winston cigarettes, back in the days when the characters of the tv series would appear in the adverts.

The confieterate army was the name of the SOUTHern army during the civil war. They were fighting to keep slaves, watch that commercial 1 more time and you'll probably just be shocked more than anything else. I have a video series to recommend for you guys; it's called "Ross's Game Dungeon", which was created by Ross Scott of Freemans Mind fame. He reviews old, obscure, and strange video games that time has forgotten about; oftentimes for a very good reason. I would recommend y'all start small, perhaps with his review of "Polaris Snowcross" or "The Chosen: Well of Souls". But good God, whatever you pick, don't pick the "Armed and Delirious" Game Dungeon episode; ease into that first, because even people accustomed to Ross's brand of humor and presentation felt ill and weirded out by that episode, and Ross himself nearly went nuts reviewing that game. Otherwise, a good video as usual.
