And now they have clear gorilla glue. Which is what I used to put a cheap but cute snake ring around my Harry Potter wand, to represent my house. I wrapped the handle in navy blue faux leather and put the green-eyed snake ring at the top of the leather.

Sweat stains are literally my biggest problem when it comes to cosplay. I get hot really easily but i also sweat when my anxiety act up. So its just a constant game of chance.

I heard that it helps when you put pads into the inside of your cosplay so that the sweat is on there. It's really hard to discribe but I saw some people online talking about so maybe that could help you ^^

I feel your pain! I've always had problems with sweating, takes nothing for it start, which makes me anxious, which makes me sweat more, making me more anxious, etc..... You know how it goes 😢 It's a little better nowadays as I'm building up my confidence, but yeah... So I try as much as possible to wear natural fiber (cotton or linen) costumes, or at least a tank top or something underneath. If neither is possible or it's really warm adding pads helps too. I've been thinking about sewing my own linen pads so that I can customise them for my cosplays.

A great hack 4 pit stains is to stick thin feminine pads to the armpit seams of the top, that way it absorbs the sweat instead. You just have to make sure you get the proper size 4 that part of your body & also position it correctly.

6:40 Tiktok has taken over lol. This for whatever reason reminds me of something that happened a few months back (long story incoming sry): Before this whole pandemic thing, me and my friend where planing to go to comic con with me as raven (from the ORIGINAL teen titans) and her as sans, we where talking about it to one of our friends on the bus home from school, and out of nowhere two girls walk down to us and ask enthusiastically "wait, are you cosplayers?!". Now, this was very very unexpected from these two girls, because they where the kind of girls who drink starbucks everyday, always on phones (all the time), make tiktoks on the bus, and would low key act like they where better than us because we didn't like the same things as them. anyways, I was kinda exited and confused that they where for once, seemed interested in what we like, so I said "yes we do" and their faces lit up and one of them asked "Oh! can you do the poses?" and "can you do the voice?". me and my friend where even more confused at this point, and i said "what voice?... we would only do voices and poses that fit our characters" so they said "then do that!" I honestly didn't know what to do, but my friend said "uhh, do you even know what cosplay is?" and they said, "duh, its those tiktok anime weeb people" and I just said "uhh, no?" but then one of them pulled up some photos of cosplayers dressed in very "revealing" outfits with cat ears and stuff, like, the ones who you would expect to sell their bathwater on the internet. now, i have nothing against people who do this kind of cosplaying, but its just not the kind of cosplay me and my friend do. I think they saw we where clearly confused, and a bit weirded out, so the two girls just shot us a mean look and left. That was strange. sry for the long story, I have nothing against tiktok cosplayers, a lot of them are very cool people, its just, some of them can be a bit... odd.

Absolutely love hearing all of these! 💜 This one’s an older story that I only barely remember cuz is was like 2011 so sry for foggy details. Montreal Otakuthon is held in a conference building next to this fairly large open fountain/sculpture called La Joute that understandably, a lot of cosplayers take photos around. It was maybe my second or third year of cosplaying altogether and as 2011 might tell you, I was doing homestuck and had joined up w a group of ppl leftover from the massive photo shoot that happened way earlier in the day. It was getting late and we saw this fountain was finally basically empty with just one other cosplayer standing in it so we went dope let’s do that and took off our shoes just as the display effects of the fountain started up (little fire jets in a circle around it) which us dumb kids just went Great That’s So Cool and started posing somewhere where we and them could get photos without being in each other’s background. We’d only gotten a few photos done when I think a security guard came up telling us to get out and we just didn’t understand Why esp bc someone else was doing it and it had been being done all day. We look over and the other cosplayer had cleared out while we were having antics and we were the only ones. And because we were all dressed as the Beta kids, we just looked like regular hooligans. And the little park zone the fountain was in had closed and this was like the last display before the whole thing turned off. We didn’t figure out/find out any of this until lots later. So those photos we did have while not great (we were teens we thought they were excellent) we were proud to have bc they were all we got before being chased away for doing what others had done the whole day cuz we looked too young to not just be goofing off. I think it’s hilarious.

A small tip for sweat in cosplays: Use pantyliners and put them where you normally sweat a lot, only in the outfit though, bring pantyliners with you to swap them out when the pantyliners fill up, if you have a helmet, put it in the helmet too. It works a lot, I haven’t done a cosplay yet, but I know nice tips! Thank you for listening? Reading? Bye!

I only did one Cosplay shooting and it was with my friend. We were cosplaying Crowley and Aziraphale from Good Omens and I decided that we needed some cool photos to remember it. We were on our way to leave the con and found some bushes and naturaly thought:" That would be a nice backround!" so we are standing there, no one is around so we have enough room, my sister has her phone to make some photos (yes, I know, very professional xD) and than we just looked at each other and didn't know what to do. In the end my sister just took a lot of photos of us talking, figuring out what we could do. We ended up with one photo that looks kind of okay and a bunch of stupid ones, but there is one on which we're just both laughing and I liked it so much that I hung it up on my wall. What we learned that day is that you really should think about some things to do before the photoshoot, and maybe write them down because at home I knew so much but as soon as we stood there it was all gone.

To help with sweating when cosplaying: (my friend suggested this and it works really well) Put Gold Bond's Extra Strength Medicated Powder (the mint colored Triple Action Relief one) on wherever you're going to sweat. It smells like mint, has a cooling sensation, and absorbs sweat. It works pretty much all day long at a con. It's great!

My two main cosplays are the Batman: Arkham Origins version of The Joker and Captain N: The Game Master and one of two cons that I attend regularly is Fan Expo Canada in Toronto which usually falls in the last week of August. Wearing a purple and black fake leather trench coat for Joker and a literal letterman jacket made of leather and Merino wool for Captain N in mid 20s to 30s temperatures in Toronto surrounded by thousands of people can get quite uncomfortable!

I'd say "Come we can take one picture together if you want but afterwards I'll finish them alone " I think this could work :) so they'd leave you alone afterwards instead of bumping into the shoot :) or just be very strict with a deeper voice and very confident. I worked for years with kids so from experience it does help to take them to the side ask them "why are you doing that" and then calm but serious explain why this is not the right time to. But I really think that saying "I paid the photographer for the shoot and we have to finish it quickly " they should understand. and perhaps add a "You can take a group pic with me quickly if you want/ You can watch from here but I'll upload the pictures so I can't have others in my pictures" should work.
