I love dachs - they're a mini version of a happy St. Bernard 🥰👍

I've never loved a dog so much as I do with my Weiner dog. I never understood it, but now, I can't imagine my life without him. He's truly my very best friend.

I used to have 2 Weiner dogs in my life. Both were big cuddle bugs, both acted like they were 10 feet tall and bulletproof, both helped comfort me when I felt down from all the negatives in the world. Sadly my first one from middle school days, and my second one from college years both passed away due to old ages

I have 2 rescues, Hugo, age 14 and the youngster, Buddy, age 3. I’ve had as many as 4 doxies. I adopted mostly seniors, ages 8 and up and was devastated every time it was their turn to cross over the Rainbow Bridge. Would love to adopt more, but we’re in our seventies now and our energy level has decreased as well as our income🤣. However, never say never!!

My little sister when I was young. She lived 16 years. Could spell! B-a-t-h meant she would disappear, but was always first in the lake.

the best breed ever! Just love my doxies for this personalities BIG personalities. Fritz was 17 when he had to leave us...his sister is 14 now and does very well despite her appetite lol. 17 years of adventures, fun and true companionship like no other. RIP our beloved Fritzy-Boy.

@@123prestolee I know for sure that when time will come, once again we will get two doxies for sure. Lots of work and a huge commitment. Research the breeder and be aware of possible health issues and dive into the adventure. No two dogs are the same. You have experience with a different breed which is an asset. They love to sleep in bed with their owners- get comfy sheets and blankets lol...Our male dog was soooo different from the female we still have...something to think about- Male was very active and high energy...Mika- the female cudly, sweet and loves to eat! Good diet with high quality food is a must and of course a trustworthy vet that truly cares about animals. Wishing you luck...and if needed can share more about my experience with this breed.

@@halinailkiewicz6146 Thank you very much for taking the time to reply. Our little chap’s parents have been tested for all possible heath issues relating to UK, so all should be well. Interesting to note what you say about the males, as our puppy was more than happy to rough play fight with a 5 month old bitch the breeder also owns - dragged around by his legs, and asked for more.

They are indeed! Aren’t they supposed to be a little high maintenance though? Problems with too much barking/aggressive towards strangers/health issues with their backs??

Dachshunds are just the best!! I've had dachshunds for over 30 years, and I don't think I'll ever love another breed near as much! Our current dachshund is almost 12 years old, and is the 'baby', and he knows it! Lol

I don't think I'll ever have any other breed. I love ALL dogs but none will ever be as great, smart and crazy as my baby Jazz!!

We lost our dog Chi Chi, a brown dachshund, to cancer last friday, July 16, 2021, this really broke our hearts. Chi Chi is a very loving and loyal. Mica a dapple dachshund does't want to come out and eat,,she's so sad. Wish we could bring chichi to life..

I know the feeling all too well. So sorry for your immense loss.

I did. My beautiful spoiled and pampered Sandy passed away at the age of fifteen. She was so full of life and sass with a very big sense of humor and a loving heart. She never met an enemy. She is greatly missed.

Love my two. So smart they are stupid, so fierce and cuddle bugs. Mine have a lot of opposites, one likes the cold and snow, the other hates it, it's 100 degrees and 70% humidity and one wants up my shirt, the other chills in the shade. I cannot get enough of them. They are so much fun and loveable.

I just got a dashhound!!! She's a long hair, at 8 years old. My boss was rehoming her. She had belonged to her sister who had just passed away recently. She's stuck to me like glue.

My sister’s sausage thinks he’s a Rottweiler - until he actually sees another dog. Or a human. Cat. Bird. Anything, really.

Weenie dogs are the best dogs 😂

Very brave. Trained to go into dark spaces alone and drag a vicious critter it’s own size.

They were originally trained to kill badgers so they do have an aggressive, no nonsense approach to things, and instinctively wouldn’t be fazed by a tunnel.

@@videogollumer Yep... and there's a reason it does. The cross is something marks something special in our hearts. She's the sweetest thing.. She comforts me when I'm sick.. she knows when I'm down, even before I'm down. And to know three different sets of people had her and didn't understand nor care to know the breed's ways, and abused her, just hurts my heart.

Had a mini dash years ago. Sourdough Schultz. We brought a Springer Spaniel pup into the family and Schultz, even though he had a bad back and never lifted his leg to pee, went to our bedroom and lifted his leg high enough to pee the full height of our bed.

I live alone and want a dog so badly. I love all the neighbor's dogs except when they bark too much. I work too many odd hours and am afraid to leave a dog home alone for to long. Many people say they get used to it but I think it is cruel, also my house is not "child proofed" so I don't know what kind of damage or mischief a dog can get in to. Dachshunds are very cute - love those non-stop wagging tails and the little black puppy at 10:59 is adorable. Other dogs I'd consider - some type of spaniel, beagle or mixed breed as long as it is playful and friendly.

I absolutely love these dogs., especially the dapple. I lost my 11 yr. Old dark grey dapple female " Speckles " suddenly to a bad pancreas which affects other organs... kidney, Liver etc. March 25th... I still can't believe it. She was fearless . .
